The promotion letter says: “You’re ready.”
The next level may say: “Prove it differently.”
What are we doing between those two moments?

That's where leadership development gets interesting.

If you're in HR or L&D developing high-potential women for bigger roles, this one's for you.

Executive Presence: The Foundations is a coaching-led, 2-day programme with an online group coaching session in between. Its built on three dimensions:
INFLUENCE. IMAGE. POISE.

Its practical and holistic, preparing high-potential women for roles with greater visibility and higher stakes, in a world that's pressured, uncertain and constantly shifting.

Facilitated by three ICF specialist coaches, each leading one dimension, and coaching every woman on her real challenges, not case studies.

The programme is fully HRDF-claimable.

If you already have someone in mind, scan the QR code on the final slide for programme details and registration. by @vweird

It says in the Cantonese Cuisine Museum:
Guangzhou is officially a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

And after eating my way through a small part of the city, I can see why.

Cantonese cuisine has 20 fundamental cooking techniques, more than 1,000 varieties of dim sum and apparently 5,400 dishes. And still counting.

And then you discover that what we casually call “Cantonese cuisine” actually has three major schools: Guanfu, Hakka and Chaoshan.

So yes, I came to Guangzhou for the food.

I may need a few more trips to get through the menu. 😂🥢 by @vweird

When three coaches come together on Malaysia Day, there’s definitely one ingredient we have in common:

Commitment. 🇲🇾

And yes… something is brewing.

Executive Presence: The Foundations.

Three women. Three different styles. Three complementary expertise. One shared purpose.

Helping women leaders step up, own the room and lead with impact.

If you’d like to know more, I’ve shared the details in the comments. 🌟

Congratulations. You got the promotion because you delivered. You solved problems. People trusted you.

Somewhere between that role and this one, the rules changed.

What got you here still matters. But at this level, people are watching something else — how you create clarity in complexity, how you read a room, whether your presence carries the authority the room already expects, whether you stay grounded when it's real.

That's executive presence. Almost nobody teaches it — you're just expected to arrive with it.

It doesn't mean becoming someone you're not. It means becoming intentional about how your leadership is actually experienced.

If this speaks to you, find out more details.

If you're in HR or L&D and someone just came to mind, find the full programme outline is in the QR code in the pix..

I learned to install a feeling.

No, I haven't lost the plot. 😂

I recently dipped my toes into NLP through Elevate Your Stage Presence with NS - NLP run by Andrew Tham and Fiona Lok.

I didn't have the headspace for a full-blown NLP programme, so this was a great way to get a taste of it.

And it also gave me some new tools to play with:

Installing a feeling.
Learning how to intentionally create and anchor the emotional state you want to access. Quite fascinating when you actually experience it.

Hypnotic language.
A reminder of just how much our choice of words can draw people in, direct attention and influence how a message lands.

Oh yeah, I also won the 3-min Signature Speech Series.
Must have been all those hypnotic words. 😉

Body language.
A crash course in what we communicate before we even say a word.

And then came the challenge of trying to catch a 2-second micro expression to see the true feelings underneath. No blinking time.

And then we took another little side trip into...

How to catch someone lying.
Because apparently that is also useful stage presence knowledge.

This is what I love about learning. Sometimes it gives you a completely new idea. Sometimes it gives you a new way to use what you already know.

And the bonus?

Reconnecting with my classmates from the Paid to Speak community, sharing our stories, our journeys and what we're learning along the way.

Yes, we are indeed a curious, creating-ruckus kind of batch.

A shoutout to David Lai @mindofdavid88 ai from @paidtospeakofficial for organising this, bringing us together and continuing to support our journey.

Every flower has more than what you see. The petals are the visible part.
Somewhere in between are the stories, choices, doubts and little moments that helped it bloom.

That was the spirit of this dinner. 27 people. One space.
At Jalinan, the Malaysian noodle bar helmed by Aaron.
Stories from my own journey.
And plenty of food for thought.

Both the book and Jalinan came to life in June.
So this was a celebration of two very different beginnings, side by side.
Both homegrown.
Both still unfolding.

And somehow, they came together rather beautifully.

Heart. Head. Hands.
Notice the calling.
Think through the possibilities.
Then take action, even when there isn't a finish line in sight.
That was what I spoke about.

And Aaron echoed it in his own way.
Which made me smile.
Because looking back, I think I've been doing exactly that.
With my book. Him with the restaurant.

Neither came with a neat map or a guaranteed ending.
Just a sense that something was worth pursuing.
Then the courage to take the next step.
And the people around that table made it even more special.

Ancient friends. Newer friends.
And people meeting me, and each other, for the very first time.
27 people sharing food, stories, questions, laughter and a little bit of themselves.
That felt pretty special.

To everyone who came, thank you.
For being such sporting, fun-loving people.

For playing along.
For sharing.
For laughing.

You made it feel less like an event and more like a gathering of people who were simply happy to be there together.

So yes, I'm relieved. I'm grateful.

And very happy I got to create something that felt like us, rather than simply doing what is usually done. And perhaps most of all, I'm amused that the three lines I shared that night came back to me on the way home:

HEART: Listen to what keeps calling you.

HEAD: Get clear on what matters.

HANDS: Move before you have all the answers.

I guess I took my own advice. 🌸 by @vweird

A photo of women I know and love.

But there's more...
The stories behind the smiles. The doubts, challenges, breakthroughs and quiet courage.

These are some of the 'real' women featured in 'Flowers in the Boardroom'.

They are not celebrities. They are Malaysian women I have seen in action. Women who figured things out, found their way through, and became more of themselves along the way.
.
.
.
Thank you for trusting me with a snippet of your story, and for allowing others to see, reflect and learn from your journey.

Your experiences remind us that leadership is lived, not perfected. ❤️

Read their stories. You might just see a little of yourself in them.

We don't create our best work by trying to become someone else.
We create our best work when we have the courage to become more fully ourselves.

As I step into my 63rd year, I'm not celebrating becoming a new version of me.

I'm celebrating - Coming home to myself.

It isn't something we find.
It's something we gradually have the courage to live by @vweird
