Those who stay will be champions. Every early morning, and every late night I walked past those words painted on the wall of our middle school locker room. I trusted it, I bought into it, I believed with everything that if I stayed, that I would become a champion. Many things have happened since the first time I read those words as I walked out after a long practice, or late night after a game. There’s been highs and lows, ups and downs, wins and losses. I have stood in the face of adversity time and time again. It has relentlessly knocked me down, kicked me in, and spat on me. Nevertheless, I stayed through it all, determined to become a champion. Believing that no matter what, if I stayed, I would stand triumphant. It wasn’t until the last game I’d ever play as a Brownwood Lion that I realized what it truly meant. It didn’t mean that I was going to win a state championship, it didn’t mean that they would etch my name on a plaque that would collect dust in a trophy case for years to come, it didn’t mean that at the end of the score would say I won. It meant that whoever stood firm in the face of adversity, would become a champion in life. I have stayed the course, and I now stand victorious. I’m Weston Wolf, and I am proud to be a Brownwood Lion. taken in Gordon Wood Stadium by @w0lfman_9

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
