A whole lot of days spent in the driver’s seat. Right at 50k miles by the time it hit a year old. Drake’s first turkey hunt was the first “trip” this thing went on. It’s been in a VIRAL video when I found myself about 30 seconds ahead of a stolen F150 and was unintentionally handed a flat by a spike strip in Southern Arkansas. Yes. That was me. It’s been on a pile of runs since then and it’s got a few more piles already planned.

Very intentional and some would say minimal additions over the year. I like subtle upgrades with strong intentions. That’s how I do most everything. Why would my truck be any different?

There’s been several people that I’ve chatted with before making a move with anything. Confident I’ve made the moves that not only made the most sense but created the most capable course of action in “building” something simple and effective. I reckon you’ll be seeing more of it in the future, but I promise I won’t spam you with a pile of “truck stuff”. Well, not unless you like it. 😏.

You’ve got till the end of this song to make as much progress as I have in a lot of years by putting these three things into practice. That’s assuming you can read all the slides in 27 seconds.
•
If you’re always building but it feels like you’re never growing, maybe building isn’t the problem. Going and grabbing everybody up isn’t a real tactic or answer. To each their own I guess, but these are three rules I’ve set as the standard for myself that I wish I knew a long time ago. Picking one or two works for a while, but not doing all three will keep you wondering why your community, and the people in your personal life, keep cutting out.

I’m aware this isn’t normal for me to post, but I did feel an internal nudge to make the post with the hope that if anyone is trying to “figure it out” maybe this will help. People and brands alike.

Its late. It’s Saturday. I was mowing most of the day. Its not normal for me to post on this day or time but I have to. Can’t help it. My youngest got his first “real” one today. He says “I’m about to scream” in a whisper that was holding back more pressure than Hoover Dam. Homie is EXCITED!

It’s a wild feeling to know that you know that you know that you know. It’s a wild and freeing feeling when you understand that it’s okay to find out that you never really knew even when you knew that you knew. Read all of that again. Know that you will hopefully and eventually find yourself experiencing both.
•
Just remember, unless you’re not human of course, that you’ll still always put waders on one leg at a time, you’re always responsible for your reactions and your decisions, but most importantly remember who it’s for. Never think less of yourself and never shy away from thinking of yourself less. Also, yes, the pics of my boys show EXACTLY who they are.

This may not be worth reading. I was rambling. I do that a lot: Getting to move the way I’m moving means a lot more than just some days outside. It means a lot more than some tags and updates in social. Moving the the way I’m moving means nearly everything that’s been put into the last 12-15 years has gone almost all the way according to plan. It means that the compass has been pointed in the right direction and I’ve stayed the course I unknowingly set out for myself. It means that as much that has gone the way it’s gone it’s easy to miss the tiny missteps in the mix. The things that only moved this journey off a degree or two at a time. Hardly noticeable till it isn’t.
•
Had a rad season this year. Hunted with folks I had been wanting to just hang with for quite some time. Shared my local world with some folks from way out west and got to do it with some of my closest friends and the folks who share my address. Forewarned about the historical reputation of the dates set but we sent it anyway. Learned a lot from these folks from watching them thrive in a scene they’d never been in before. Pure stoke no matter the situation with zero room for anything but positive vibes.
•
Seeing people love living in unfamiliar territory can teach you a lot if you’re looking to learn something. Chew the meat and spit out the bone is the saying. Not a lot to spit out from this crew! Cheers to loving living, even if it always feels like a transition. Keep your folks close. Find more folks to get close to. 🥃
•
P.S. Big love to @deckedusa for pouring into their people and trusting even those of us with questionable character to represent them in some wild ways. 😆 Grateful to be a part.

Very seldom do I have the time to take the extra time and set up something for a few shots. If I’m being honest, more times than not I really just don’t care to. It’s an even more rare occurrence for me to set a timer for a shot and then jump in by myself. I don’t think any less of anyone who does that on the regular, I’ve just always shied away from it. Had a wild hair one day and decided to go for it and I don’t regret it.

Found myself enjoying the time holding a camera with nothing but the shadows from the trees giving me grief and a bird that, earlier in the day, made the grief from the shadows feel closer to a favor. That ole boy put me through it but that’s okay. It was worth the extra time in the woods chasing this bird. It was worth the extra time in the woods after chasing the bird.
