Heyo guys! My name is Wadi and this is my working account, WadVisual (might change the name lowk😂)

Since I was in middle school, I loved to edit and create as a hobby, whether it be photographing landscapes or making school videos, and recently it’s been incredibly enjoyable to work on small projects that I’m wanting to get back into it.

A month and a half ago, I came back to Ethiopia after 10 years. Being diaspora, you don’t realize how long that time is until you go back, but there’s also the past that never seems to leave this country.

Tizita (Nostalgia) by Mahmoud Ahmed was one of the songs that played constantly in my head throughout this whole trip, not only because of the power of memories, but what the genre represents in the eras of past government repression, much of that reality still present in the country today.

“May their suffering, their pain, their death, bring peace & tolerance in this land and African soil, that we share and love so much”

As summer comes to an end, we’re so grateful for the memories we’ve made at OSFNA!❤️

From our networking event, Waliin Haa Guddannu, to our Cookout and Field Day, none of this would have been possible without the incredible organizers, dedicated volunteers, talented competitors, and every single person who showed up to support (and rocked our ODAA jerseys). 🙌🏾

A special big thanks to the Seattle Oromo community and the OSFNA committee for hosting an amazing tournament! 🤞🏾

Together, we’re continuing to build spaces that celebrate culture, strengthen connections, and amplify Oromo voices in the diaspora.

Thank you for making these events a true success — we can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Time flies and life goes in ways you’ll never expect.

19 years ago, I put my little Pre-K hand on that paper.

3 weeks ago, I finished off my Master’s Degree in Information Systems from the Robert H. Smith Business School, 1 year after completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science from the University of Maryland. 🐢

so you know I had to do a part 2 🙂‍↕️

🏷️ Brotherhood

Islam brings a unique concept of brotherhood that transcends all borders, languages, and status.

We are bound by the shahadah.

We are bound by tawheed.

We are bound by the love of Allah and his messenger.
