I am taking a social media break for a while.
I am honestly not doing well watching Hazel decline and every day am questioning when the right time is going to be for her. Some nights are really hard. She’s restless and panting and no amount of snuggles can ease her mind. Other days she is spunky, tail wagging, and devouring food. I don’t want to take her beautiful life too soon and I also don’t want her to suffer. I’m praying she gives me a sign when she’s ready and I’ve spoken to enough vet offices and an at home euthanasia team to have a plan in case we’re in an urgent situation v peacefully being able to pass at home with her brothers.

This is scraping open old wounds of Arrow passing last year which is making this even heavier for me.

My head space has been incredibly dark and sad and angry and poetry is bleeding the pain out of me but it’s still not enough. My anxiety is at an all time high.

I have a signing here in Nashville at the Millennium Hotel Maxwell House on Saturday, 10/24, and am going to do my best to be present for you all, but I apologize in advance if I appear withdrawn. It’s been difficult to mask. I’m so grateful to attend but right now life feels like a dense fog that I’m just trying to breathe through everyday.

I had hoped to have Sugar out by now. I got two thirds written but haven’t been able to write about love while my heart is shattering.

All that to say, it is exhausting feeling so much and I have spent my life offering so much grace to others but right now I need to offer that same grace to myself. So I send you all my love, while I take a step away from this space. 🖤 by @waggingwithwords
