Farewell to August! I look happy in this photo but when I'm actually wearing a Wag Central T shirt it means I'm working in the business not on the business. It's ok, but let's not make a habit of this, people!

There were 5 dogs in my house this summer. You can only imagine the dog hair.

George is my dog, and it looks like he loves me but he really prefers Annie more. I try not to let it hurt my feelings.

I have this hot little convertible with red interior. When these guys are with me the top has to stay up.

I love the local band, Shameless, but they need bigger stickers.

I was excited about this pizza but my friend Nicole who lives in Italy was not. So then it became less appetizing. I'm sure we ate it all anyway.

Nicole and I went to see the Amy Poehler podcast live at TownHall in NYC. We didn't know who her guest would be, but figured it would be someone amazing... maybe Tina Fey from SNL or one of her cast mates from Park and Rec. It turned out to be D'Arcy Carden. Who the hell is that???

A tree fell on a building I own during a microburst (???) in Milford. Luckily no one got hurt but cleaning it up sucked.

Ellie said let's go get all of my stuff out of my storage unit and set up my new place. This kid has been going to college for at least 6 years now. But I schlepped as I was told. There is a place reserved in heaven for all of us moms continually getting our little birdies nested.

This looks innocent but our dogs were pincushions all summer for our resident veterinary student taking an acupuncture class. The dogs learned to enjoy it. Plus their ying and yang pathways are now open. Whatever that means.

A bunch of pups = a bunch of fun. And lots of poop scooping.

When the iPhone says to clean your front camera your photo comes out something like this.

Thinking about making this room into my home gym... oh wait, she'll come back home again and again. Bringing up the home dog count too.

George needed glasses.

The Bruno Mars concert was great.

And it was awesome to see Rod Stewart in Bridgeport.

I had a cracked tooth that I was ignoring that led to quite the infection. Ouch.

When you have a pack (shoutout to Millie, Georgie, and JJ!), hand-feeding treats can easily turn into a chaos zone. Here is how we keep it calm and fair:
1. Establish a sit/wait before the treats even appear.
2. Eye contact first—rewarding focus, not demand barking or crowding.
3. Name release cue—they only move when their specific name is spoken.
Notice how everyone waits their turn? That’s clear communication in action.

POV: The Labs get all the glory, but Hasani is the real MVP. 🏆🐾
Our Labs had an absolute blast plunging into the pool today, but the aftermath was pure chaos! Enter Hasani—our absolute hero who didn't even blink before grabbing the wet-dry vac to save our floors. 🌊🧹
I am so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful, dedicated staff who keep this place running smoothly (and dry!) no matter how wild things get.

When I was designing Wag Central, I didn’t just want to build another dog care facility. I wanted to design a place that felt like a second home. 🏡🐾
There are a lot of great pet care options out there, but traditional boarding models often rely on high volume—large playgroups, shared multi-purpose spaces, and minimal night staffing. While that works for some, I knew I wanted to create something different for dogs who need a little extra comfort.
At Wag Central, we chose a more specialized approach:
Dedicated Spaces: We separated our daytime daycare zones from our overnight boarding rooms so dogs can transition from playtime to true winding-down time.
Smaller Groups: We intentionally limit group sizes to keep the energy calm, relaxed, and safe.
Around-the-Clock Comfort: Our team is on-site 24/7. If a dog gets lonely or anxious at 2 AM, there is always a friendly face there to tuck them back in.

What are dog daycare franchises actually selling you? 🧵Hint: It’s not dog care. It’s an investment pitch where pets are treated as inventory. Massive corporate scaling relies on rigid playbooks and cheap labor—and you can't cut corners on labor without cutting corners on your dog's safety and well-being.
