Chicago 2026- The one that felt like a chore.

I’ve had a hard time processing this trainging block and how I felt going into the race. The excitement wasn’t there and I felt so flat about it all. During the race I quickly realized any fire I had within me to chase this distance had dwindled. There were no nerves, stress, or anxiety. I think that’s because I just didn’t have a race left in me, and that truly showed out on the course. Once things felt a little hard I let any idea of a goal go. Surprisingly, I’m ok with that. I showed up, and I finished what I started. That’s all I think my body and mind were capable of.
Sometimes I wonder who the heck I am, because how do I NOT go all out ALL the time?! There’s a simple answer- @wahoo_ct has helped me grow so much, and mostly she has helped my mental health around running. I’m not stressed and spiraling. I’m not putting my worth into finish times. I understand I am a busy mom of 3, working a demanding full time job, and on top of everything else I’m trying to squeeze marathon trainging into that mix.
After 6 stacked full marathon blocks, consisting of 9 full marathons in 3 years, I am beyond ready for a break.
So cheers to some rest, recovery, shorter distance, strength, and helping friends chase goals šŸ¤ā€¦ oh and Ferritin 🤣 by @wahoorun

So many athletes to be proud of after yesterday’s Chicago Marathon! The heat and humidity called for adjustments, but these boys showed up ready to give their best.

@prjoel10 finished in 3:29 with a HUGE 32-minute PR! And @ceo4lyf ran a super strong race despite a calf issue that popped up late in training.

Way to represent WAHOO!, boys! So proud of you both!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my coach, CT, it’s the power of putting pen to paper.

I found this fun Chicago collection of note cards from @werunonart through @lovinglifeontherun and I can’t wait to sit down and write each of my athletes a special little note before @chimarathon.

Sixteen weeks of training, check-ins, workouts, adjustments, highs, lows, and trusting the process together it deserves more than just a ā€œgood luckā€ I’ve got six 1:1 athletes ready to take on Chicago. The official taper is on.

And the cards I don’t use? I think I’m going to frame them and add them to the basement as artwork where I have framed our families sports achievements. A fun little way to celebrate a city and a sport I love so much.

šŸ‡©šŸ‡Ŗ BERLIN MARATHON for @namregomez

German surprised CT and me when he casually sent us a picture from BERLIN! šŸ˜‚ He snagged a bib through the Abbott World Marathon Majors and just like that, he was off to earn star #3.

It ended up being a little hotter than expected, but German had an incredible experience:

ā€œLike everyone says about Berlin… it is flat and it is gorgeous. The fueling on course is definitely different from what we’re used to. Although, as a huge fruit lover, I appreciated the bananas and apples at the end of the tables. Thankfully, I carry my own water, gels, and everything I’ve practiced with over the last several weeks. I don’t race for speed. I love finding my constant pace, experiencing races in other countries, and getting the opportunity to earn another World Major star.ā€

And just like that… āļøāļøāļø

Three stars down for German! Congrats on another incredible marathon and another country checked off the running list!

Jenna is an IRONWOMAN!

Such an incredible performance at Augusta 70.3 for her very first 70.3!

I’m so impressed thinking about how far she’s come since that first text telling me she had signed up for this race… with very little swim or bike experience. (When I say little we mean no experience)

Sometimes you just have to sign up, give yourself 12 weeks, and figure it out along the way.

And boy, did she figure it out.

Huge congrats, Jenna! What an accomplishment and what a way to tackle your first 70.3!

@getfitjen_clt @jenmillss

First 5K in forever for @ambermdowns!

Going into the race, she had a very loose goal of around 28 minutes. She hasn’t been doing much speed work, so this one was really about getting out there, racing again, and seeing what she had.

Turns out… she had a little more than she thought.
26:39!
Way to get out there and surprise yourself!

We absolutely adore these two athletes from Honduras!

Looking pretty dang good repping their new WAHOO! singlets!

ā€œCaring is cool.ā€ @bradstulberg

The day before her marathon, Megan put her goals out there for everyone to see.

Stretch goal: sub 3:20
Goal B: sub 3:25 + BQ
Goal C: sub 3:30 + PR

And then she went out and ran 3:23.
A PR. A BQ. 2nd in her age group. 3rd female overall.

But what we love most isn’t just the result.

Megan is one of those runners who is SO fun to watch because she isn’t afraid to care. She isn’t afraid to say what she wants out loud. She isn’t afraid to chase something that she might not get.

Every marathon she runs, she learns. She takes what worked, what didn’t, and carries it into the next one. She keeps putting herself out there and keeps getting better.

Caring is cool. Chasing big goals is cool. And saying them out loud is pretty freaking cool too.

Congrats, Megan. 3:23!!!

Will be fun to see if she victory laps in Chicago or races again! Personally we suggest waiting on the weather forecast to make that decision. Time to rest & recover.

Nick Abel getting it DONE at the Bronx 10 Miler!

Repping the WAHOO! race singlet and cruising through 10 miles in 1:18:49 ..7:49 average pace!

Congrats, Nick! Another strong race in the books.

An awesome crew of WAHOO! babes took on the legendary Pikes Peak Ascent!

13.1 miles. 8,720 feet of elevation gain. Basically a half marathon straight UP a mountain.

What an adventure and one heck of an accomplishment. Way to represent, ladies!

Suddenly, being bundled up and freezing in WAHOO! gear doesn’t sound so bad. 🤣 taken in Worldwide by @wahoorun

Team ULTRA is adding a new stop to the race schedule this fall … CHARLOTTE!

@michelobultra has been a @charlottemarathon partner for years, and this year we had the opportunity to do something a little different: bring together a team of local runners from run clubs all across Charlotte to take on the Charlotte Marathon weekend.

Last night, our team got together at Tyber Creek for the first time.

10 runners who had never met before, brought together by one common thing: RUNNING.

Huge shoutout to @tifosioptics and @headsweats for hooking up our Team ULTRA Charlotte crew with some race-day goodies!

Charlotte, see you Novemeber 14th.

Yesterday Britt ran a 3:42 marathon at Erie.
But what you don’t know is how she got here.
Before I met Britt, she suffered an injury in February 2025 so bad she could barely walk. She worked her way back on her own, only to deal with another calf injury right before Marine Corps Marathon that fall.

That’s when she called me and basically said, ā€œI’m done doing this on my own. I need help.ā€
So we got to work.
I encouraged Britt to continue working with her PT, but at one point she was simply told she needed to stop running.

As her coach, that didn’t sit well with me. There are times when running needs to be taken off the table, but there should also be a plan for what we CAN do and how we build our way back.
So we switched PTs.
Insert Cory at @process.pt

Britt started seeing him weekly, then every other week as her symptoms improved and her strength came back. We adjusted training. We stayed patient. We kept building.

And most importantly, Britt understood that an occasional PT appointment wasn’t going to do the work for her. She had to show up consistently.
And she did. Day in and day out.
Today, almost a year after she first called me, she ran 26.2 miles HEALTHY.

Was 3:42 the time we wanted? No.

We truly believed 3:25 was on the table, but sometimes the weather gods have other plans. 75 degrees and 83% humidity are not exactly PR conditions.

By mile 10, Britt knew today wasn’t the day to force it. Instead of chasing a number, she made the smart decision to settle into a sustainable pace and get herself to that finish line. And THAT is a win.

Because a year ago, we weren’t talking about how fast Britt could run a marathon. We were figuring out how to keep her running.

Yesterday she ran 26.2 miles healthy. & that’s the win!
