We sat with @wajihaibrahim, the visionary behind @wordsinurdu, whose work is rooted in preserving, celebrating, and reimagining the Urdu language for generations to come.

We spoke about the inspiration behind Words in Urdu, the responsibility of keeping language alive across generations and borders, and her upcoming children’s book, Noori and the Missing Colors—a beautiful extension of that mission.

Because language is more than the words we speak. It carries memory, belonging, history, humor, poetry, and pieces of home. And when we preserve a language, we preserve the worlds that exist within it.

This conversation is about Urdu, yes, but it is also about what it means to inherit a culture, make it your own, and intentionally pass it forward.

Coming soon on Kushi.
