Supra R-Class review. Its almost done, I swear. :-)

A lot of you have been messaging me about the full review before you make a decision — no pressure or anything 🙂

Here’s the honest reason it’s taking a bit, other than my day job: five days with these two boats gave me way more than I expected. A lot of footage, and a lot to say. I’d rather take a little extra time and get it right. So fair warning — this one’s going to run a little longer than normal.

We all loved surfing these. Honestly, I surfed both of these boats better than I’ve surfed in a long time. And for the first time in years, RJ and Thomas were out there together, competing, trading waves. It was a blast. And then there were the grandkids.

So — did we like the R245 more than Minty Fresh? Stay tuned.

The 2026 Moomba Craz and Supra SL share the same DNA from Skier’s Choice.

Its been 10 years with these boats. 3 tries at the Craz and I cracked the code. 3 generations of Supra SLs and they just keep getting better. Full 20-minute review with all the settings on YouTube.

I have been dreaming about this for at least 25 years. RJ & Emmy had a baby PJ who is now almost a year, but RJ hasn’t been on the water for some time. I have been hoping to get them out this summer, and finally, maybe our last day due to weather, it all works out. When you dream a lot, sometimes the actual moment can’t meet your expectations, and then sometimes, it exceeds them. I am looking for more “best days” as the rest of my GrandKids get to this point. LOL, I have had a surfboard ready to get them up wireless since Herbie was just months old. :-)

So the 2026 Supra SL has a lot of changes. The new features from the 2025 Supra SA, and then a few more like the updated software and screens, and even new changes in the hull that are noticeable. WAY to much to discuss in a post, but its all fantastic. I may have small gripes here and there, but this boat is outstanding. The goofy wave was clean without any extra list and without any need for the alt/wake prop with this 550. How could they have updated the SL, and given it MORE beautiful push? I have no idea, but they did it. The wave is tall and long and it wraps around you more than previous models and just carries you forward. You can feel that push even as you are in the back and move AWAY from the wave. No joke, try it. We ALL noticed it. Amy described it as EVEN push all the way back, if that makes sense. She could HANG in the back if she wanted. Thomas mentioned that even on the goofy side with the bigger curl, you could just ride around it if you want, and he got WAY MORE air than the Craz because the wave was taller and well defined, tons of push, and he boosted and released better. I could probably stand up my ~4 yo grandson Finn on the top of the wave and he could walk UNDER thomas. I (fat boy) noticed that I could move away from the wave where it was a bit smoother with that beautiful transition, and still find my way forward. This is going to be a longer video when it comes out, lol. All pictures you see were done with autowake on, which we always use, and ONLY stock ballast, no other supplemental ballast except maybe a few tacos for lunch.

So we picked this up yesterday. So much to say, lots of changes, even some hull changes that are noticeable. We were out very late, and I am tired, but I will have some great snaps and more details tomorrow. The Moomba Craz has always been a tougher boat. I am SO partial to the max, and in the past I have had trouble REALLY dialing in this wave. This time, I remembered the prop didn’t feel right on the last time we demoed the 23 Craz, so I asked Moomba to please swap out their wake/high alt prop which was more similar to the special prop we tested on the Max. So it was a zoo this weekend, but after testing, we felt like we had the setup, and we hid in a cove in a special area in the lake where I knew we could get the best water and catch some late sun. We didn’t start this session until 7pm and it was beautiful, that Craz wave was top notch, the push was insane. We were full of ballast and had 300 lbs of lead, since this boat ways a bit less than the Max, it was magic, we found the sweet spot. Full review and settings coming for sure, so much to say. Also, Amy saw how we had dialed it in, and wanted to jump in just before dark, and loved it, tons of push for her, great wave. #moombaboats #moombacraz #wakesurf #wake9 by @wake9surf

I love this time of year and the weather today is gorgeous. I’m taking this 2026 Moomba Craz to Anderson County Park. Will be out this afternoon and then maybe tomorrow. If you see me in the area in this boat, flag me down and I’ll give you a ride. We have been just going out rain or shine and having a blast. Mid-week afternoons are the absolute best, we stay away from weekends. Jessie got it in her head she could beat her transfer record of 25, she did 43!

TLDR; IYKYK.

If you don’t understand that, this is raw video and audio of us closing down the lake after a lot of wet weather. Wed from 4:30pm til 8:30pm pulling off. Figuring out how to work remotely near a lake since 2003 and then finding my way to my favorite lake in the US and being less than 10 minutes from my garage to the freshly paved ramp. I left the audio the way it was so maybe you could feel it a little? As a renowned philosopher of my time once said: “Life moves pretty fast.
