the best Saturday with some people I love by @wakeupdeja

We made it to 9 months, we are in the final stretch.
Barry keeps making me take photos, here are a few. Honestly I’m glad he makes me take photos, because I’ve just been too tired to care. I also couldn’t take a serious picture right now if my life depended on it.
I can’t fit any clothes, I’m stealing my husband’s pants.
Sleeping is very uncomfortable.
We also still have a bunch we are trying to do before he gets here. Hiro will be here in weeks!
That being said, I cannot wait for him to get here.
We are very excited and I’m so grateful for this journey and super thankful to all of our family and friends for being so supportive. by @wakeupdeja

A peek into my last year of college at University of Memphis. I’m gonna miss that place so much. I learned, I healed, and I made some great friends. My teachers absolutely killed it, and always encouraged me to explore beyond the assignments. They supported me even when I felt like maybe my goals are too “ambitious or adventurous”. This has been the best educational experience I’ve had. I made art that I’m truly proud of, I made it on the deans list twice during my last year, and I participated in 4 shows. My classmates and teachers even made Hiro a gift, saying goodbye was bittersweet. This has truly been one of the best times in my life. I had soooo much support it’s crazy, just wait until I make a thank you post because I will. 😂❤️🥰 by @wakeupdeja

Oh boy, 2025 was a year. So much happened, some hard stuff and some awesome stuff. This past year I had so much growth and so many great memories with friends and family. We worked with dogs, we rescued dogs, I made art, and I accomplished some life long goals. I got my dream truck, I turned 33, I saw some of my favorite artist’s work in real life, and I finally got my BFA! I also spent a lot of last year growing a little human that we can’t wait to meet this year. I’ll have to make a separate post celebrating my last year of college, in this post I want to share some of my favorite personal moments outside of my art career and school.

Peace out 2025 ✌🏽and Hello 2026 ☺️ by @wakeupdeja

Almost There, 2025
Various Stoneware, Various Slips, Drift Wood, Grass, Yarn, Pipes

These are photos from her debut at @theuglyartco!
This piece took me over 8 months to finish. I made multiple clays and slips from scratch for this piece and I built it in parts for firing, so technically it’s 7 pieces put together to create one life size sculpture. I started this before I found out I was pregnant and I worked on her throughout my pregnancy. I’m just so grateful for how she turned out! Thank you to @catraen and @katerobertsceramics for guiding me through this “adventurous” project! I also want to thank all of my classmates for support and help. I really couldn’t have completed this without them and my husband, especially towards the end!

Ok here is the other batch of photos from our thesis show at the @theuglyartco! Seriously Friday was great and I am so proud of everyone and so grateful for all of the support and help. I really can’t wait to see what we all do next!
Also I definitely want to acknowledge how it’s been such an awesome journey creating art while also growing a baby boy, this has been wild. I am so tired and so happy. I can’t wait to show him everything we made together and introduce him to everyone who helped along the way. ☺️❤️ by @wakeupdeja

Here are a few pics that I have from senior thesis. OMG, I can’t believe it’s happened. Last night was amazing, the turn out was awesome. All of my classmates did great! I really don’t have words, I’m just happy that I finally made it to this point and I’m so grateful for the community that I have found over the past few years. So many teachers, family, classmates, and of course my husband did so much to help me get to this point. I am just so grateful. I will upload the photos my husband took on our camera later. I just had to share something now! by @wakeupdeja

Some of you may already know, but I would like to announce that our rainbow baby boy Hiro Valentino will be here March 2026.
🌈💙
I don’t really talk about my fertility journey much online, but it’s been a long and sad journey filled with growth and acceptance. Just when we were ok with giving up here came Hiro. We are so grateful! He is such a blessing and we can’t wait to meet him.🥹 by @wakeupdeja
