The Batcave. No Bat 🦇💦 One waterfall. Two identities: Wales & Gotham. This is Henrhyd Falls, the tallest waterfall in South Wales, Brecon Beacons at 90ft. It’s rich in history and heritage, geological, industrial and cinematic. There are lighthouses… and then there’s one sitting on a hill like it’s been quietly judging the entire Irish Sea since 1845.This is Porth Tŵr Mawr — a small, white, perfectly placed lighthouse that looks like it was built purely to make photographers feel inadequate.Originally constructed to guide ships safely along this stretch of coast, it’s basically been flashing a polite but firm message for nearly 200 years:“Maybe don’t crash here.”And to be fair… it’s doing a great job.Because if you ignore *that* on a clear day, you probably shouldn’t be in charge of a boat.What makes this place slightly ridiculous (in the best way) is how effortlessly it pulls everything together.You’ve got the sea stretching out like it owns the place.Mountains casually hanging out in the background pretending they’re not a big deal.And then this lighthouse… perfectly centred, perfectly lit, like it turned up early and claimed the best seat.It doesn’t try too hard.It doesn’t need to.It just stands there like,“Yes, I am the composition.”And the annoying part?It’s right.Because no matter where you stand, what angle you try, or how artistic you think you’re being… it still looks better than your plan.Which feels personal.But that’s the magic of places like this.History doing its thing.Nature doing its thing.And you, somewhere in the middle, trying to keep up with both.📸 Photo Top Tip:Let strong subjects like this do the work — keep your composition simple and use leading lines to naturally guide the eye.#lens_time #anglesey #visitwales #lighthousephotography #wanderlustuk by @wales.uncovered

If castles could talk, Conwy Castle would probably start with, “I’ve seen things… and none of them involved traffic lights.”Standing here in Conwy, North Wales, you’ve got a 13th century fortress built by Edward I, a man whose idea of interior design was “more stone, more intimidation.” Completed in just four years which is frankly offensive when your own house renovation has been “nearly done” since 2018, this castle was part of his iron ring of fortresses to keep Wales under control. Subtle.What makes Conwy brilliant though is the setting. It is not just a castle plonked somewhere scenic. It owns the landscape. The River Conwy curves around it like it is paying rent, the suspension bridge lines up like a medieval red carpet, and the town walls still wrap around the place as if everyone collectively agreed to just leave the 1200s intact.And then there is that moment when you realise people have been crossing this exact spot for over 700 years. Traders, soldiers, kings, probably someone late for work muttering about traffic even back then.Meanwhile I am stood here taking photos, slightly concerned a crow is circling like it knows something I don’t.📸 Photo tip: Use leading lines from the bridge to pull the eye straight into the castle.
