Since 2021, @walkaboutorg and @fwmission have been working together to expand access to mobility around the world 🌍

Together, we’ve distributed over 8,800 wheelchairs, delivered through 18 containers, reaching communities across East Africa and beyond.

Every wheelchair is carefully assessed, fitted and adjusted by local teams on the ground, ensuring it meets the individual needs of every beneficiary.

We’re proud of everything we’ve achieved together, and excited for the future ahead 🩵

We couldn’t be prouder of our little big fundraisers! 💙

Our co-founder @carolinagonzalezbunster recently visited our Kenya Centre with her kids, Andrea and Delfina, who have been busy fundraising for the work our team does every day.

So far, they’ve raised over £29,000 ($38,000) – the equivalent of 116 wheelchairs for people in need ♿️

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, and of course to Andrea and Delfina for showing us that you’re never too young to make a difference.

Meet Faith from Uganda 🇺🇬

After her wheelchair was stolen last year, Faith lost the ability to move around independently. For months, she had to crawl across the floor of her home to get from place to place.

Recently, Faith received a new custom-fitted wheelchair, thanks to @fwmission, @hopehealthaction and @walkaboutorg ♿️

Now, she’s looking forward to going back to church, spending time in her community and getting around independently again.

17 years ago, Luis and Carolina started Walkabout Foundation with a simple vision: to change the lives of people with mobility disabilities around the world 💙

Our new Mobile Clinic has arrived at our Kenya Centre 🇰🇪

Specially modified for our team, the Mobile Clinic will allow us to carry out more complex wheelchair adaptations directly in the field ♿️

This means fewer journeys and shorter waiting times for beneficiaries, while helping us reach even more people through our outreach programmes.

The vehicle has also been adapted to better accommodate wheelchair users, making field visits more comfortable and accessible for our team members who are wheelchair users themselves.

We can’t wait to see it out on the road and reaching communities across Kenya 💙
