Hello from Walk Dublin

Hope you're well and looking forward to some fun activities for Heritage Week.

We are preparing for a Mostly Medieval Tour next Sunday.

This tour is ideal to explore the sights, sounds and smells of a very different Dublin.

And we will meet the Gaelic Irish, the Vikings and the Normans who populated our great city.

Hello from Walk Dublin. What a great view yesterday.

Did you manage to get the last colander in Dublin? Substituted a plastic one for a metal colander so praying that there's no permanent retina damage 🙏

#actingthetourguide reminded us of the fun biscuit advert, this comprised a teacher explaining a #lunareclispe by showing a biscuit to a class of small children, full moon. Then eating a bit half moon and finishing it off, total eclipse.

It was a bit different for the solar eclipse as well you know the moon appears to pass in front of the sun. Well it does from our view point.

On our usual EuroPass Tuesday Tour we finished outside the Mansion House on Dawson St.

The new Lord Mayor of Dublin Daryl Barron was standing on his threshold. And he looked happy, we waved and said congratulations. To our joy he popped down the stairs and said hello to us all. He shook hands and posed for photos. I mentioned that our group are teachers in Dublin for training on an EU Erasmus scheme.

He was so nice to us, generous with his time, and we wish Daryl a very successful year.

Hello from Walk Dublin on this sunny day.

We have a bit of news for you, Ireland is an Island so for people travelling here from anywhere except Northern Ireland a ship or plane journey is necessary.

Gosh not exactly a revelation however it means that there are more variables in getting here.

The current issue as many are aware is fuel uncertainty. The experts in the travel industry suggest that people book their journeys sooner as it is thought that fuel surcharges will increase. Oh no...

They also suggest booking through a travel agency. The reason for this is you are more likely to be compensated and receive a full refund if your holiday is cancelled.

And if you are coming to Dublin we will be delighted to welcome you on Tour

We are thinking of fuel which makes movement.

With electric vehicles do we have to provide our own fuel source to make it truly green?

Will all aircraft have to use bio fuel? Currently only 1% do.

Would it be possible to have people friendly wind turbines does anyone know? If possible people could have them in residential areas and make power local.

On viewing an electric car go on fire in the Wicklow Mountains maybe we could review the safety of materials used in their constitution. Fortunately no one was injured but possibly this was because the mountain rescue team turned up immediately. They had been calling out for another incident. Take care out there. 🙏

Well there's 1 piece of good news, our walking tours are fuel friendly.

Phew calm at Farmleigh after the frenetic St Patrick's Day.

Why is green our colour now?

Is it the large amount of rain we had this year?

Or is it a historic political statement, wishing to pull away from the UK and have an independent state?

Or that our water is polluted and looks green?
