Ellen Walker: Belle at the bend of the River 11/6/38/-12/23/25 She hated seatbelts. And when we would get to woodland road she’d say “let’s unbuckle” She loved the rodeo and all things cowboy Scarves Her mink coats-and she’d let us put them on when we had sleepovers as kids Gold jewelry.. specifically gold hoops Double mint bubble gum the neon green Four leaf clovers- which she could look down and find 3 Yellow roses Sitting by her pool in the summer watching cows and horses in the pasture Seafood gumbo at Xmas and her telling everyone “dont get all the goodies” The beach Lincoln town cars Date night at red lobster Calling her wallet a pocketbook The way her lipsticks were so pointy bc of how she applied it 💄 Turquoise on rings and bracelets White diamonds perfume Bunyans bbq trips Her putting Vicks vapor rub on our chests with a warm towel when we were sick When mom wouldn’t check me out of school so I’d call her and she’d be right there. She’s take me to Fred’s and we’d get a treat! Calling me on every birthday Chicken stew under the carport and homemade ice cream My favorite-being her name sake. Last but not least her faith and relationship with our savior These are just some of the memories I will hold on to and cherish. She was my favorite person ever! My family tells me I am just like her but I see her in small intricate ways through everyone in my family. And I’m so grateful for that because I know on some random Tuesday I’m going to say “that reminded me of grandmother” and I’ll laugh and smile. And probably cry! I know she’s in heaven with so many jewels in her crown and I’m sure the first person to come lookin for her was papaw! Oh how I’ll miss you!! And as you always used to say “May God bless you and keep you” 🌾 by @walkermadness
