POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Baked in the Highlands of Scotland, enjoyed around the world.

For over 127 years, our family has been baking shortbread in Speyside, Scotland. Our products are still made, packed, and sent from here by the team we’ve grown with, many part of the Walker’s story for generations.

Have you ever wondered why there are 13 holes in each of our all-butter shortbread fingers?

Walker’s chose 13 holes as a thoughtful nod to a “bakers dozen.” These tiny holes, or “dockers” are pricked along the dough to prevent over-rising in the oven and give our fingers a deliciously even bake.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Walker’s Shortbread has been granted the Royal Warrant of Appointment by His Majesty King Charles III for the supply of shortbread and oatcakes to the Royal Household.

Nicky Walker, Managing Director at Walker’s Shortbread, said: “...As an independent, family run business, we are extremely proud to carry the Royal Warrant which is a great honour and we feel is a true mark of recognition for our service and commitment to baking ‘Scotland at its finest’ for over a century.

“It is particularly poignant to receive the appointment following the very sad passing of my uncle, Sir Jim Walker recently. My uncle, my father Joe and my aunt Marjorie were extremely proud when Walker’s was granted the Royal Warrant for the supply of shortbread and oatcakes to the late Queen Elizabeth II and I know how delighted they would have been by this Appointment from his Majesty King Charles III. This award is testament to their legacy.”

We look forward to continuing our family tradition of baking Scotland at its finest for generations to come.

Over coffee and shortbread, Aberlour local and Buster the dog share what makes our Speyside village so special, along with a reminder to appreciate the place you call home.

Aberlour has been home to Walker’s since 1898, and its people are still at the heart of our village today.
