Hola! DM FOR AUDITION INFO FOR WALKING IN BETWEEN! Whether you want to act, do tech (lights, sound, set design, costumes, etc), or help with the music, everything would be so appreciated. Once we have a cast, rehearsals will be very flexible and we’ll make sure to work around everyone’s schedule. ALSO IMPORTANT NOTE, we’ll be performing next year so if you won’t be in Houston next year, that might complicate things a bit.

But if you can, please audition and help us make this awesome story come to life!
And enjoy this beautiful pic of Will

Here’s a snip it of another song! “Millie and the Beast” is sung by Millicent as she grapples with the duality of her nature, brought on by her bipolar disorder. (I apologize for the vocals, this is meant to be sung in a different key by a girl who is much more talented)

Also, thank you all for your interest, but no, I will not be releasing every song in its entirety here. You can DM me or email me at derdenwill@gmail.com if you want to hear more or if you want to AUDITION! Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until we perform in the future.

Please, if you like this song/page, share it with people! We live off of your attention... #walkinginbetween #WIB #newmusical #newmusic #musical #writer #singersongwriter #folk #original by @walking_in_between

Day 7! Our final (main) character is Liam Donovan! Liam’s disorganized schizophrenia makes it very hard for him to communicate with other people well. Unless he feels very comfortable, he usually paces or fidgets while talking. He has trouble maintaining eye contact and often chooses to stare at peoples’ shoes during conversation. However, when Liam has his episodes (almost every day) he imagines himself as a much more confident person. Initially, Liam admires Jason Ross as an incredible musician who makes his songs come to life. He believes that Jason will help him to find “the girl”, but he gradually realizes that Jason doesn’t have his best interests in mind.

The story is centered around Liam’s quest to find love and acceptance through music, and his struggle to stay in control of his mind.
Liam’s story is, above all else, meant to inspire all generations to see people with mental illness in a new light. In the past, people with diseases like schizophrenia have frequently been portrayed as horrifying or miserable characters who constantly suffer from raging psychotic episodes, leaving them in a hopeless state of insanity for the rest of their lives. However, in “Walking In Between”, Liam sees his delusions as a gift. In his mind, the fantasies that occupy his reality are sources of encouragement that allow him to find a profound, deeper meaning in life. Thus, the message of this musical, told through authentic singer-songwriter music, is that no amount of delusions, defenses, or even bouts of insanity can blind us to the greater truth of life. That “to live without love is to not live at all.” If you guys really want to help us out, please post about this musical on your page/story! We’re really trying to pick up some publicity for this story! P.S. MORE SONGS TO COME!

If you are interested in auditioning or just learning more, DM me or email me at derdenwill@gmail.com! We need all the help we can get.
