Happy #Wokeface Day! Street art is what made me fall in love with Portland. It inspired this account, walking and walking, peeking in alleys and corners to see what might be there. I may or may not have taken a drill to poles in the middle of the night over the years to keep a piece of #pdxstreetart for my own collection. Not @Wokeface though. It’s tempting, but I cant do it! Just a few years ago, I remember when Likewise wasn't here. The space was a bar connected to Cup and Saucer. Before that, can't remember. When Likewise first opened, I didn't understand/appreciate the bleachers facing outward on the street for customers to sit and watch the passerby; sadly it took a while before I gave this bar a try. Soon it will be, "Do you remember when Likewise was here?" - in a few days you will be gone. 💔 It feels like a friend who announces they are moving out of the country, and you regret not spending a shit ton of time with them when you lived in the same city. Likewise gave this neighborhood so much: performance artist bartenders, essay contests, @nitwit_art surprises!, the genius Neighborhood Research Institute, a letter writing campaign (stamps and stationery provided!), thought-provoking coasters, post-it's with tips on how to be kind to your neighbor, a cozy indoor home for unwanted Christmas trees (the smell of the bar during Christmas is what I will miss the most), surely the home of first dates and many last calls...and these are just to name a few. Adam and Nancy, thank you for giving us Likewise. Please resurrect it in the future. At the very least, will the seafood at the coast offer still stand? Until then, love, gratitude, and Godspeed. 🍻#likewiselikwise taken in Likewise by @walkingthroughportland
