*sorry the captions are bad, I made this vid quickly* Wish I didn’t have to make this video about a pedestrian struck in West Hartford last night on 10/15. I saw the police cars lining up on N Main last night and knew immediately it must be a pedestrian who was hit. It’s so sad. We need safer roads for pedestrians and we need cars to be more cautious.

I feel so terrible for the family that got the call. I also feel so sad for all the teens who left a football game to hear this news. Something similar happened when I was in high school and it was really devastating.

If you see this video please drive with more intention today. Put high beams on, do what you can to make this town safer 🩷

If you walk in this town, use your phone flashlight in the street, have something reflective, anything to create visibility. Especially where there are not sidewalks or crosswalks. #westhartford #westhartfordct #connecticut #news #caraccidents taken in West Hartford, Connecticut by @walkinweha

We have been doing so much walking, and we added a few other sections of Elmwood to our list of completed roads! After our walk, we went and got to enjoy Adlin Perry’s play yard!

Adlin is an amazing community member who is doing great things to connect pet owners in town and provide a fun place for dogs to play especially while the dog park is currently closed.

There are certain play times when any dog is welcome and she can provide more information! She also runs a playgroup for poodles and poodle mixes called West Hartford Doodles and Poodles! We had a great time at @parkroad_weha_ct Fall for Park Road today! Battery was low so only a little bit of footage but we met the dancing lady aka the CT Dancing Queen!

I love coming to check out what’s going on down on Park Road and glad I got to go!

When I first moved to West Hartford in 2020 I lived on Park Road and I remember waking up one October morning and seeing people with marching band equipment walking past my porch and I was like wow what the heck is going on? I’m glad there is still some fun fall festivities happening on Park Road even though the parade is no longer happening.

I loved that the trolley was running that was such a fun touch. I love Park Road and I’m glad it got to showcase some of the cool shops! Shout out to the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce @whchamber for republishing William Hall’s 1930 book The History of West Hartford and for opening this space for the event! I don’t even remember where I saw the flyer for this event, but I am so glad that I saw it and that I went. There was so much more cool historical information. I was not able to include in the video like the fact that the ceilings, light fixtures, door hardware & windows are all original. also, the marble used to construct this building is from the same quarry in Canaan, CT that the state capital is built with! One West Hartford is now open! Haven’t been outside but clover got us a chance to check out the outdoor space.
