I play keys at my local church. Sometimes I MD/run tracks, but I’m blessed to play with very talented musicians, so there isn’t much directing needed.

As a joke, I wanted to take a picture of the talkback button. In live settings, it lets the MD communicate with the band without putting the mic through the main PA.

Well… the keyboard panicked.

As we started the main song, I noticed the lead singer sounded off. One of the backup singers, who is also a pianist, told me I was playing in the wrong key.

Except I wasn’t.

For some reason, the keyboard sounded like it had transposed several keys. I checked the transpose setting.

0.

So apparently the keyboard decided to transpose itself without telling me. 😂

I had to reset it, which took FOREVER to restart, then switch over to the piano backing track while it restarted.

All that on a Wednesday night.

The yearly Texas Game Jam is an event where game devs make a game in a weekend. I’m making the soundtrack and handing minor SFX for the game. I had to take on the role of game designer de facto in the jam. Years of project manager in tech helps. I hope our submission places. by @waltcorona

Just signed on to compose the original soundtrack for Superspective — a first-person puzzle game built around non-Euclidean spaces, relative gravity, and surreal architecture.
