WNY Progressive Black/Folk Metal
'The Nektarkin's Plight (Revisited)' available NOW
-NOW BOOKING-

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Finally, we are pleased to announce that we have recorded a new version of our early track, 'The Nektarkin's Plight', with our new lineup. This decision was made to commemorate 10 years since the release of 'Advent' and effectively, 10 years of Wandering Oak existing as a full band.

The spirit of the original remains the same, but we have made a few tweaks to the arrangement and we feel the execution is far superior. CW, Dee and Mario bring a whole new level of musicianship to this track.

The greater majority of the production and recording work was done in-house, with the exception of the drums and the artwork, to which we are very grateful to @rottenmetalrecording and @haeuncreative respectively for their contributions.

All proceeds from the sale of the single will go directly to The Nature Conservancy, with accountability statements being posted periodically. Https://preserve.nature.org

We hope you enjoy this fresh take on what is arguably our first crowd favorite.

In other news, CW is healing nicely and we have begun writing music for the third full length. More details on that to come.

LAST SHOW (of 2026)
2nd annual Holiday Toy Drive
Saturday December 5th

@inertiametalny (best Buffalo band and it’s not even close anymore)
@wanderingoakband (Rochester NY, searched them without closing Instagram that’s all I got)
@ceasetoexist716 (we literally typed out no crowd killing and no moshing and then booked this band)
@bifurcate_buffalo (homoerotic antifascist black metal is what they say, I’m just going to believe them and support it)
@scvrecrvw (glad we had that talk during CTE)
@forever_in_transit_official (with a vocalist? I’ll believe that when it happens)
@adelphophagyofficial (pretty sure this was 7 Marlinski side projects ago)
@sallyanndra (she’s in a band I’m sure, or she might not be, I’ll find out for sure soon)

All announcement antics aside; we haven’t done a @mohawk_place since it closed. We haven’t done a show at Mohawk that hasn’t packed the place since 2018. We do not intend to ruin that tradition.

$10 with a toy
$20 with no toy
18+ (ID Required)

IMPORTANT NOTE; no crowd killing, no excessive moshing, no stage diving.

Mohawk likes us, but not enough to risk the side effects of those activities.

Respect the venue. by @wanderingoakband
