One of the things I think couples don’t realize until after their wedding day is how much of their ceremony they never actually seeWhen I got married, I remember taking it all in, starting to walk down the aisle, and then locking eyes with my husband. The second that happened, everyone else faded away. Not because they weren’t important but because in that moment my entire world narrowed to one person.And while I’m so grateful I got to experience that, it also means there are pieces of my ceremony I never got to see.I never saw who was crying. I never saw the laughter, smiles or the kids making funny faces. I never saw the reactions from the people who had traveled to be there and witness the beginning of our marriage.And that’s why I photograph the people around you just as intentionally as I photograph you.Years from now, you’ll remember how it felt to stand up there but your photos will show you everything else too - the moments, reactions, and emotions all around you.One of my favorite photos from this ceremony is the dip at the end of the aisle. Not because of the couple (although I love that part too), but because of everyone around them. There is just this surreal feeling all around you that can’t really be explained. A hay farmer and a badass firefighter bride.
