Huge shout out to @halfstepbar for allowing the space of improvisational jams to happen.
It always a pleasure playing with @oddmanrushmusic and @cazayoux_music joining us for the daytime show!

Hey everyone! This weekend is huge for us. On Saturday and Sunday, we are officially heading into the studio for our recording days! We’re tracking new music, capturing the behind-the-scenes, and we cannot wait to share the final sound with you.

This project was supported in part by the Austin Live Music Fund of the Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and entertainment.

Meet the band:
• Billy “The Kid” Phillips — upright bass. A solid groove player with great instincts, Billy gives the songs their backbone and keeps us locked in.
• Danny Warner — drums. Danny brings years of experience, a strong feel for dynamics, and the kind of playing that serves the song without ever getting in the way. After nine years with Nik Parr & The Selfless Lovers, he knows how to drive a band, build a set, and keep things moving when the music opens up
• Vanessa “Nessa” Barbee — harmony vocals and arrangements. One of our Harmony Hustlers! Nessa also performs with Van Jackson, Gone to Texas, and Sun Moon Rising with Alice Blue.
• Mark “Wook Wizard” Dennison — live looping, vocals, and sonic texture. Mark also has a solo looping project and comes from an a cappella background. Our second Harmony hustler!
Alice Blue — fiddle, mandolin, vocals, and songwriting. Alice is a killer songwriter with a sharp ear for melody and arrangement, and she is easily one of the hardest-working people in the band. Whether she’s writing, singing, or playing, she brings a level of focus that raises the bar for everybody.
• Eddie Robbins — guitar, vocals, and songwriting. Eddie fronts the band with a roots-driven guitar style and songs that pull from folk, country, and whatever else fits the moment. We are lucky to be surrounded by this group of players.

Some songs are played. Some songs get chased through the woods for a while.
Here’s Wanderin Pine following one down the trail at Green Mesquite. 🌲✨
