These train tracks in Hanoi run right between all the buildings! There’s almost no room to stand to the side when the train comes through so you have to breathe in 😅

Some snaps from our adventure from South Africa to Lesotho via the Sani Pass 🇿🇦🇱🇸

The Sani Pass is a breathtaking drive through the Drakensberg mountains, connecting South Africa and Lesotho. This steep, winding gravel road requires a 4x4 and rewards you with epic views, cultural experiences, and even passport stamps! 🛤️

Once you reach the top, you’ll discover a traditional Lesotho village where you can enjoy fresh, doughy bread made over a wood fire and learn about the history and culture of this unique mountain kingdom. 🍞🏔️ Don’t miss a visit to Africa’s highest pub, perched at 2,874m above sea level, where you can sip a Maluti beer and soak in panoramic views. 🍺🌄

Our favourite photos from Kruger National Park 🇿🇦🦏🦒🐘

Kruger National Park has almost 20,000 sq km of wilderness, it’s the ultimate adventure for spotting the Big Five and more. You can either do this on a guided game drive or self drive. We chose the self drive option which we’d 100% recommend! It was so great to have the freedom to drive wherever we wanted! 🚗🌿

Our top tips for having a successful game drive-

1. Visit May–Sept (dry season) for better viewing and animals gathering near water
2. Drive near rivers for frequent sightings, especially by Skukuza
3. Go slow - speeding reduces your chances to spot wildlife
4. Look for stopped vehicles as they likely indicate an animal nearby
5. Follow safari jeeps - their guides know where to look
6. Check sighting boards at rest stops for recent animal locations
7. Drive all day for higher chances to see more animals
8. Vary your route to cover diverse landscapes and species.
9. Stay overnight in the park for early and evening game views
10. Know animal behaviour (like leopards in trees) to improve your spotting skills!

The Garden Route in South Africa is a breathtaking 300 km road trip along the southern coast, offering many adventure activities, beautiful forests, golden beaches, and captivating wildlife 🌳🌊🐋

These were our favourite stops 🚙 -

1. Mossel Bay - coastal town at the start of the Garden Route. Activities here include zip lining over the ocean, surfing and enjoying the beautiful beaches 🏄‍♀️
2. Victoria Bay - a small, secluded cove located between George and Wilderness 🐚
3. Map of Africa Viewpoint - a huge landmass carved out by a deep river gorge with an uncanny likeness to the shape of the African continent. There are many companies that operate paragliding from here 🪂
4. Wilderness - a cool, laid back town with peaceful beaches, yummy restaurants and lots of activities such as kayaking and surfing 🛶
5. Knysna - postcard-perfect little town mostly surrounded by the large estuary. Famous for its oysters, it’s also home to a rare species of seahorse. Make sure to go on a whale watching trip here and also drive up to Margaret’s Viewpoint to see Knysna from above ⚓️
6. Robberg Nature Reserve - our favourite stop on the Garden Route. A stunning nature reserve with cliffs, seals, and hiking trails 🦭
7. Plettenberg Bay - Whale watching is popular here, and it’s a great spot for marine life encounters, including dolphins and sharks 🐬
8. Birds of Eden - This sanctuary is the world’s largest free-flight aviary, home to over 200 bird species 🦜
9. Bloukrans Bridge - the highest bridge in Africa. Thrill-seekers can leap from 216 meters, while others can enjoy the Sky Walk with panoramic views of the gorge below 🏞️
10. The Big Tree - Walking trails through an indigenous forest. The highlight is a giant yellowwood tree estimated to be over 1,000 years old 🌳
11. Tsitsikamma National Park - This park offers diverse outdoor activities like hiking, zip-lining, and exploring the Storms River Mouth 🥾

Hermanus is known for the best land-based whale watching in the world. You can spot Southern Right and Humpback whales while walking along the famous Cliff Path 🥾

The Perfect 4-Day Cape Town Itinerary 🌞🌊🐧 (SAVE for later)

Day 1 – Nature and Scenic Views
• Table Mountain: Hike to the top or take the cable car. We did the Platteklip Gorge route 🥾
• Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden: Explore over 1,300 acres of diverse flora. Don’t miss the ‘Boomslang’ canopy walkway 🌺

Day 2 – City and Culture
• Robben Island: Visit the island and take a guided tour from ex-prisoners. Make sure to get tickets in advance as it sells out quickly ⛴️
• Victoria & Alfred Waterfront: Take a stroll around the waterfront and visit shops, restaurants, Two Oceans Aquarium and the colourful Bo-Kaap area nearby. Be on the lookout for the resident seals that come onto the boardwalks and piers to catch some rays 🎡

Day 3 – Northern Cape Peninsula
• Hout Bay: Boat trips or snorkeling with seals 🦭
• Chapman’s Peak Drive: Scenic coastal drive with panoramic views is often called the most beautiful drive in the world 🏞️

Day 4 – Southern Cape Peninsula
• Boulders Beach: Visit the adorable African penguin colony and also look out for rock hyraxes - dassies 🐧
• Cape Point Nature Reserve: Explore the lighthouse, Cape of Good Hope, and stunning beaches 🌊
• Muizenberg Beach: Popular beach for surfing and cute colourful beach huts 🏄‍♀️

Where to Stay
We stayed at the stunning Glen Boutique Hotel & Spa. We loved their breakfasts and outdoor pools 🏨

Where to Eat – Vegan Options
• Hudson’s The Burger Joint: Gourmet burgers and craft beer 🍔
• The Fat Cactus: Yummy Mexican-inspired dishes 🌮
• Kloof Street House: Restaurant in the most beautiful garden setting. Perfect for a romantic evening meal 🍷

Set on 10 acres of land, the Saxon is a peaceful retreat away from the city. We spent our time relaxing in the spa, soaking up the sun in the outdoor pools and eating in the restaurants. The Qunu restaurant does incredible vegan food 💚
