Michigan State at Notre Dame has seven buses a day out of Chicago. UTSA at Texas drops you right on campus, so you can walk in while everyone else is circling the lot. you haven’t booked labor day yet. we checked 🤨 good news, nobody else has either! we went back through last labor day weekend and 38% of bookings happened on the actual day those people traveled. another 19% the day before that. nobody plans this trip. we have the data. so if you’re still deciding, you’re on schedule. that’s genuinely just when this gets booked. meanwhile everyone driving has been saying “we’ll leave early to beat the traffic” for three weeks and will be sitting in it regardless. you cannot pre-book your way around the turnpike. while you’re in there, grab the way back too. monday runs heavy in both directions and it’s the half everybody forgets about until sunday night. #labordayweekend #labordaytravel #bustravel #budgettravel by @wanderu

labor day traffic is technically a plan. here are four better ones 👇 brooklyn, mon the 7th. eastern parkway turns into a caribbean carnival, courtesy of @newyorkcarnival. steel pan, costume bands, and feathers you will still be finding in your bag on tuesday. $17 from boston, $8 from philly. washington dc, sun the 6th. @natsymphonydc plays its labor day concert at dar constitution hall, 8pm. free, no ticket, first come first served. the most expensive part of your evening is the $16 bus. saratoga, through mon the 7th. @thenyra closes the summer meet on labor day and then nothing until july. $19 gets you to albany. $32 goes all the way up, two transfers, arrives 1am. a choice you are allowed to make. philadelphia, all four days. @phillies host atlanta, plus the 153rd labor day volksfest. $8 and about two hours, which is less than parking at the stadium. and the useful bit. labor day monday is the busiest travel day of the weekend, in both directions. book the return when you book the way out. fares are one way, checked sep 1, so book before they move! by @wanderu
