Six months ago this page was just a way to share our trips with friends and family… and somehow it has grown into a community of nearly 1,000 fellow adventure lovers. So if you’re new here, we figured it’s time to properly introduce ourselves 👋

I’m CJ, the planner, videographer, voiceover guy, and the one who will absolutely build an entire itinerary around wildlife, unique landscapes, and yes… ice cream stops. I always said I’d write a travel book when I retired, but while Michelle and I were driving through the Serengeti in Tanzania, watching lions in the wild, I had the realization: why wait?! That moment is what started this vlog.

Michelle is the calm in the chaos, the culture seeker, beach lover, and the reason our trips actually feel like vacations and not just expeditions. She makes sure we slow down, connect with the places we visit, and enjoy the experience.

Then there are our boys, Peyton (9) and Phoenix (6), our official junior explorers. They carry the snacks, help spot wildlife, test every hotel pool, and remind us that family travel isn’t about perfect plans… it’s about shared memories.

We are not full-time travelers. We have normal jobs, school schedules, and a limited PTO balance just like most families. But we choose adventure over nearly everything else.

Our goal is mid-range travel on a realistic budget, proving you don’t need luxury prices to have once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

If a destination is wild or off the beaten path… we’re probably going.

I SAW A MOOSE! 🫎

Missed out on the Bear Lake permit but that didn’t stop us from exploring Rocky Mountain National Park. This was our 38th US National Park and we finally saw a moose! Actually two Meese!

We have gone on several trips hoping to find a moose and always came up short but not today. Wildlife was everywhere and the kids loved all of it.

What’s the plural of Moose? 🫎

Colorado was absolutely stunning.

With not a lot of time off from work, we flew out for a short trip to explore Colorado’s Western Slope. We visited Rocky Mountain and Black Canyon of Gunnison National Parks, hiked Dinosaur National Monument, and whitewater rafted the Arkansas River. It was a whirlwind of a trip but we enjoyed exploring and roadtripping around the state. 🚗⛰️

We spent the day exploring our first Canadian National Park, La Mauricie. We did a few hikes including the Cascades Trail and wandering along quiet boardwalks. 🇨🇦🥾

Highlight of the day was seeing an otter swim back and forth with branches building a dam. 🦦

What we thought would be a quick roadside stop to see a waterfall ended up being so much more. 💦💙

Montmorency Falls is a huge waterfall, significantly taller than Niagara but what made it such a cool stop was how you can experience it in so many ways.

We started at the top and walked across a cable bridge that hangs right over where the water pours down the 272 ft (83m) edge. Then walked down a million steps to the bottom and with the mist splashing your face really feel the power of the falls. The kids favorite part though was the gondola cable car that took us back to the top. 🚠

Totally worth the extra time we spent here exploring. 💯

A day spent wandering through Québec City. 🇨🇦

We walked the old streets, popped in and out of charming little shops, stopped for pastries and coffee, and admired the beautiful architecture around every corner.

Of course, the kids had one very important mission: exploring every single souvenir shop they could find. 😂

A little history, a lot of wandering, and plenty of sweet stops along the way. Québec City, you were a dream. 🍁

After exploring Montreal, we continued our roadtrip northward along the St. Lawrence River to the wineries on the island of Île d’Orleans. 🍇🍎🍷

Located just outside of Québec City, Île d’Orleans is a large river island with steep hills that causes a microclimate that is perfect for growing grapes and apples.

With wineries and cider houses abound, this island was a perfect way to slow down and relax.

Road Trip!! 🇨🇦🚙 We had an amazing weekend getaway exploring Montreal. Quebec feels like a piece of Europe with French language and unique culture found nowhere else in North America.

Montreal knows how to put on a show. 🇨🇦✨

I got to see the Gold Jupiter winning performance at the Montréal International Fireworks Competition and it was absolutely incredible. 🎆🏆

One of the most spectacular fireworks shows I’ve ever seen.

The Road to Hana doesn’t end in Hana. 🌴

Keep driving, and the crowds disappear. The road gets rougher, the coastline gets wilder, and Maui feels completely different.
