2025-you were one for the soul. And since I let the stories pile up, now you all get my chaotic digital scrapbook and, honestly, this was SO much fun to create, to help me reflect... What a year!

12 (!!) countries in 2025! Some of them explored more than others. I mean, one time I traveled to Slovenia, Italy, & Croatia on the same day. Then another time, I backpacked through Tanzania for 45 days 🤍

2026, I hope, will be the year for my career growth, creativity, and more traveling. And diving, of course. I'm a lucky, lucky lady... 😌 by @wanderwith.sofia

I've been thinking a lot lately about the concept of "play" and how we seem to separate ourselves from it as we get older. Everything becomes about productivity, improvement, achievement, accomplishment.

But my gooooodness, I get it. Accomplishment feels good, but don't get sucked into the comparison trap. I promise you're not behind anybody else, and that your worth is not tied to your productivity.

So do whatever that thing is you really want to do simply because you WANT to. Go outside and PLAY just for the hell of it. That feels good, too. Maybe even better than (dare I say) another accomplishment by @wanderwith.sofia

Totally understand why people rave about Malapascua for the thresher sharks👌🏼🤙🏼 So worth the island hopping chaos! Diving in the Philippines left me speechless once again 💙

I remember the first shark I saw at 11 yrs old while diving with my mom in Hawaii🥹🦈 Then I used to guide the weekly Caribbean reef shark dive when I worked in Cayman! Now threshers... And next year... Tigers?!

Seriously, for as much as I love to be underwater & living in the moment, I equally love figuring out all the nitty gritty details that go into making a perfectly adventurous dive trip

I'm that girl🫶🏼

But I also don't abide by rigid itineraries! I like to know about a place in depth, arrive with that knowledge, then go with the flow (for the most part)

I think flexibility is important, and so I leave room for unscheduled time

Whether it's a trip to dive the entire time, to mix diving & on-land exploring, or to balance remote work during an extended stay in an epic dive destination... I'll research the logistics for you so you can spend your time lost in other random threads on Reddit 👀 by @wanderwith.sofia

SO many things I've had to get used to while slowly traveling through [a tiny portion of] the Philippines🙃

I'm super excited to put this ~series~ together to show you some things you can anticipate before visiting this beautiful country!!! If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it🥹

"Where's home?" - what a question! Yes, I grew up in America, mostly in one town, but my friends and family span the globe!!!!

Just means that there's a different kinda effort needed to stay connected with those who matter - and it's definitely a two way street

Plus I'm not the best at timely responses (don't like being on my phone, I prefer to give quality time so I need to be ready/not distracted to reply, aaaand time zones🤦🏼‍♀️)

I grapple with both wanting to put down roots again, but loving the freedom to roam. I think the dream is 3 home bases to bounce between: Oregon, Sevilla, Cape Town 🫶🏼

I'm sure other nomads get it

What a life!

Any ideas for virtual monthly/weekly low-effort rituals, or traditions to start & keep with friends around the world?!

If you come to Moalboal to dive/snorkel with the sardines, & if you're an outdoor enthusiast/adventure lover like me, then you goootttaaaa check out Kawasan Falls. I mean it.

I felt like a kid but at an adult outdoor playground???

I've gone 2x with @rgscanyoneering !! Our private tour was 2,000 php (per person), plus the zip line at the beginning is 700 php (DO IT!). Plan for 4ish hours from pick up to drop off :)

RGS Kawasan tour includes:
🚗 transportation to/from your accommodation in Moalboal
🍴 water, snack, + a tastyyyy lunch
👣 friendly guides (who double as photographers)
💪🏽 maybe a few bruises and sore muscles

For 1 week, I stayed at Underwater Explorer in Ponta do Ouro - a tiny coastal town just north of the South African border - and I CAN'T WAIT to go back (and hopefully see more of the country) 🥹

🫶🏼 As a solo traveler, I was so thankful that their little community took me in right from the start. What a way to kick off my diving trip around southeastern Africa last year by @wanderwith.sofia
