Malaysia Itinerary under 50k👇
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A few years ago, I had to lie to my parents just to go on my first solo trip.

Today, they’re the ones asking,
*”When are you travelling next?”* ❤️

This change didn’t happen overnight.

I’ve always been an introvert. But every time I travel, I become a different version of myself.

I stay in hostels.
I make friends from around the world.
I say yes to experiences I’d never have.
And I come back a little more confident every single time.

That’s why I started this page. If you are new to this page, welcome! If you have been following me from the start, thanks for sticking!

I’m just a regular 9–5 girl in tech, figuring out how to travel more without spending a fortune.

Here, you’ll find budget-friendly itineraries, money-saving travel tips, hidden gems, hostel volunteering tips, and honest travel experiences.

And if you’re a girl who’s even *slightly* thinking about solo travelling...
I hope this page gives you the confidence to take that first trip.

Because one trip really can change the way you see the world and sometimes...

It changes the way you see yourself. 🌍✨

If you’ve read this far, thank you for being here.
I’m Tanishka, and this is just the beginning. ❤️ by @wanderwithtb

Save this for your future Malaysia trip 🇲🇾
I managed to do 7 days in Malaysia for under ₹50k— including flights, stays, food, transport and activities.
And this wasn’t even a backpacking trip.
I stayed in a 4-star property in Kuala Lumpur, explored KL, spent a few days in Langkawi, rented a scooty, did a ₹7K jet ski and still stayed under my ₹50K budget.
If you’re planning a Malaysia trip from India, this is your sign that you don’t necessarily need a huge budget.

Next: My 7-day Malaysia itinerary

Planning 𝗩𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬𝗞 is actually so doable — here’s my full cost breakdown for 4 days , so you can copy the trip exactly 🌊✨

🚆 Train (BLR ↔ Varkala): ~₹3,000
I took a 3rd AC round-trip. If you’re on a tighter budget, book a sleeper— it’s almost half the price. Trains drop you right at Varkala Sivagiri, super convenient.

🏡 Hostels: ₹300–600/night
I stayed at @hopehostels — literally right by the beach. Clean rooms, great crowd, and the best North Cliff energy if you're looking for cafés + sunsets.

🍽 Meals: ~₹800-1,000/day
South Indian food here is so cheap- you can easily find dosa, idlis and Sadhya.
Tip: Sharing food with a friend always becomes cheaper!
Plus, you can keep one day for café hopping on the cliff (the views are worth it!). Check my other reels for reco.

🛵 Scooty Rentals: ₹500/day
Perfect for exploring places that aren’t walkable. Petrol was around ₹200–300 for a day. But you really only need it for 1 day.
I shared mine with a friend for kayaking + Kappil Beach, so it cost me ~₹400/day.

🌅 Activities:
• Kayaking – ₹500 (must-do!!! highly highly recommended)
• Surfing – ₹1000-1200(Varkala is great for beginners!)

🌟 Why it stays under 10K:
Cheap trains, budget hostels, local food, and only renting a scooty when needed.
Most beaches + cliff points are walkable, so you don’t need transport every day.

Save this breakdown if Varkala is on your list 💙✨
And tell me if you want an itinerary too!

📍Wait till the end for the location reveal!

Instead of buying a fridge magnet in Kochi, write a postcard.

A little piece of your trip, written on paper, sent to someone you love (or kept for yourself).

Imagine finding this in your mailbox years later. 🥹

Who would you send a postcard to, and what would you write? 👀

Comment “October” and I’ll send you all the links in your DM.

New week, new volunteer opportunities 👀
If you’re looking to travel, meet new people and experience these places differently.

This week’s locations:
• Uganda
• Goa (2 opportunities)
• Gokarna
• Bir (2 opportunities)
• Spiti
• Kodaikanal

Volunteering can be a great way to travel for longer, keep accommodation costs low and actually spend some time living in a place instead of just ticking it off your list.

Which one would you pick?

Send this to your friend who’s planning an international trip!🌍✈️

5 apps that make travelling abroad so much easier:
→ @google — Translate menus, signs and conversations when you don’t speak the local language.
→ @grab_sg — Book rides and order food in Southeast Asian countries where it operates.
→ @klooktravel — Book activities, attraction tickets and local experiences.
→ @airalo — Get an eSIM to stay connected without buying a physical SIM card.
→ @hostelworld — Find hostels, compare reviews and connect with fellow travellers.
💡 Pro tip: Always download an offline map of your destination on Google Maps before leaving. You’ll thank yourself when you have no network or data!

Comment “LINK” and I’ll send you the hotel details! 🇲🇾🏙️

An infinity pool, KLCC views and a stay for under ₹3,000?
My biggest tip when booking hotels abroad: always check for public transportation nearby the hotel!

I used @official_exploreden , a website that helps you find affordable hotel prices, to compare options before booking.

But I always do 3 things before confirming:
→ Check the location and nearby public transport
→ Compare prices across booking websites
→ Go through recent reviews, photos and the hotel’s social media

Because a cheap hotel is only a good deal if the location and actual experience are worth it.

Would you stay here for that infinity pool view? 🌆

Share this with your solo-travel bestie 👀✈️

These are 5 travel companies I’ve personally travelled with as a solo female traveller — and genuinely enjoyed the experience.

What stood out to me across these trips was the overall vibe, well-planned itineraries, trip management and the people leading the trips.

Here’s what I’d pick them for:

→ Raw Diaries — great vibes + fun group experiences
→ Nomichi — well-planned itineraries + good group energy
→ Pink Experiences — a comfortable option for women travelling solo, i did my first trip with them ❤️
→ Bengaluru Trekkers — great for outdoor adventures + treks
→ Tripper Trails — fun itineraries + a social travel experience

Of course, every trip can be different, so check the current itinerary, inclusions and reviews before booking.

If you’ve been wanting to travel solo but don’t want to plan everything yourself, group trips can be a good place to start. 🌍

Which one would you try first?

Comment “LEAVES” and I’ll send you my 2027 travel calendar! ✈️📅

What if I told you that you could turn just 9 leaves into 24 days off in 2027? 👀

I’ve put together a travel calendar showing you exactly when to take leave around public holidays and long weekends so you can plan your trips in advance.

No more using up all your leaves randomly and then realising you have no days left for that trip you’ve been dreaming about. 😭

Use it to plan your solo trips, group adventures, international holidays or those much-needed long weekends.

Plan your leaves first. Plan your adventures next. 🌍
