🌙 Night recap: treating myself to more self care

For the past three months, I’ve been focusing on creating better habits and routines. In this new season of (mom) life, I expend most of my energy throughout the day caring for those I love, and at the end of the day the last thing I want to do is more work. But lately I’ve been choosing to do the hardest work of all, pouring back into myself 😌🥰

Whether it’s immediately after my son goes down for the night, after a procrastinating doom scroll session, or minutes before the gym closes, I’ve been putting in the work to be stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally. Honest, most of the time the gym feels like play more so than work. It’s the uninterrupted time where I get to do me and remind myself how fun, ambitious, and strong I am.

Most of the time I start my workout with my @elitejumpsco jump rope. My new obsession! Jumping rope makes getting into the gym exciting because I want to try and practice new moves, feel how much better I’ve gotten in my coordination and stamina, and jam out to new music while jumping. I’m all about a good time while doing cardio, otherwise I don’t want to do it.

Then there’s the app that really has been keeping me accountable @onepeloton 🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♀️ The last thing I want to do is think about workouts I have to put together once I make it to the gym, so I rely on Peloton app to tell me just what to do. Decision fatigue is so real 🙃The greatest part about peloton is that I’m always challenged by the instructor, I am always hyped up by the music, and I am always giving it my all in the allotted time I have. So basically a personal training session.

In this new season, I’m learning that perfect routines don’t always play out. But honoring and showing up for myself in whatever capacity is perfect. by @wanessc
