Welcome to La Cage aux Folles — PREMIERE DAY✨

Why is this day so important to me?

I remember secretly putting on my mom’s high heels and leather boots when she wasn’t home, just 8 years old, practicing my diva walk.

Growing up as a gay child in Hungary wasn’t easy. At 21, I dreamed of becoming a drag queen, but I never felt safe enough. After dressing up for a few gay parties, the dream of bringing Oralia—my drag character—to life slowly faded away.

I still remember the weight of my tears and the goosebumps on my skin when I went to the Volksoper twice in two weeks last year to watch @drew_sarich perform in one of my favorite musicals. Sitting there, I wished that one day I could be part of a show like that—telling a story about diversity, celebrating who we truly are, and reminding people that love has no limits.

And here we are.

Today is the premiere of the biggest production of La Cage aux Folles ever staged anywhere in the world.

Thank you to our director, @andreas_gergen , and our choreographer, @faye_heather_anderson , for taking me on this incredible journey, for giving me the space to rediscover the faith, hope, and potential I once thought I’d lost, and for giving me the courage to explore new paths in my life.

Thank you @seefestspiele_moerbisch , and the whole team: my beautiful colleagues, the costume and make-up department ! You are all amazing!

throwback to one of the best workshops i’ve ever taken last summer at @impulstanz_festival

was the fastest and most challenging choreos i've ever danced (and i could still dance the whole without looking at the video)
as i was never trained in classical, just started doing ballet and jazz as an adult at the age of 23 1-2x 90min a week for fun with a totally different dancing background. there was even a 2,5 years of break until 2025. i remember i was sooo tired on that day with pain and injuries from training every day 7 hours for months. because i thought i'm getting too old before i make it to anywhere at all as my parents never supported me becoming a dancer, never allowed me to study dance on a long-term.
that year i trained in london, nyc, paris and vienna with celebrity dancers and one of my fav was this workshop. love salim, madonna's biggest and most known dancer ever.

A gothic skirt drapes over power.

Crosses gleam — not in devotion, but in defiance.
