This Saturday we are invited by @kult.funktion to host the start of the night at @export_rotterdam. This edition will be part of Rotterdam Pride where we start the night with a talk about "Queerness in the Club and streetstyles". Followed by the groovy tunes of @ktawjoeram

For the talk we invited some beautiful people who take up space within these club cultures. And after the talk you will be blessed with a performance that shows us what clubbing is about.

We start exactly at 19.30 so be on time to join the conversation about queer bodies in these club cultures.

For our community we have a discount code "Breakdownthehouse"

If the financial barrier is still too high please reach out, and will make arrangements for you 💛💕

Thank you @kult.funktion for the opportunity to host part of your special evening at the Museumnacht in the Wereldmuseum.

For this evening, I wanted to focus on bringing people together and simplifying what it means to dance. With a small performance together with @abigailaura.v and @saskianartey on the decks, it was already set in stone that it would be a great night.

Thanks all involved in making it happen and to those that joined us to create a vibe. And to the crowd for Dancing with us, to more moments. by @wanitoe

𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐃Ō 🥷✊🏻

Existential courage is the courage to be fully who you are. Visible without guarantees or protection, while the world watches and judges. In full glory and at the front. It is a powerful place, but also the most vulnerable. Everyone can see it. Everyone can have an opinion about it.

To take this place requires balance between discipline, precision, inner calm, and self-control. These values of Bushidō form the dancers’ inner compass. They support the ability to take responsibility and shape the freedom and choices of their own life, even when this brings discomfort, uncertainty, or fear.

The piece BUSHIDŌ explores the tension between vulnerability and strength. What happens when you truly show yourself, without armor, and still stand?

Hi! We’re five Rotterdam-based makers / creatives who somehow found each other through dance floors, music studios, deep talks and creative chaos.

Our worlds include dance sessions, music collaboration, personal deep dives and art and cultural events. Yes, it’s a mix. A good one.

We’re creating a nourishing home base where people of color, queer communities, parents, kids and elders can show up exactly as they are

Current Ground is our open, social and artistic home base. A place to meet, move, create, share and just be human. Where presence and connection are the foundation.

So yeah, consider yourself invited.
Stop by. Pull up. Stay tuned. We’ve got gatherings and events coming. ♥️ by @wanitoe

FRESH: reasons for Dancing

Last November, I was given the opportunity to program with Maaspodium. For this evening, I wanted to dive into our reasons for Dancing and more specifically the relationship between culture and dance. Our reasons are often interwoven with the simple rituals that were passed down to us during family gatherings. These rituals are about celebrating, mourning, or life lessons we each hold dear. We all deserve the spotlight and that often comes with a little dance. Whatever your reason may be, understand that it's your birthright to do a little boogie every now and then.

Thank you @maaspodium @maastd for the opportunity to make one of my many ideas come to life.
