We protect the things we love. It takes a coalition to protect a giant. 🌊

Join Serge Dedina of @wildcoastcostasalvaje, Joel Reynolds of @nrdc_org, Nick Powers of @warfighterscuba, Mark West of @sierraclubsd, and manta researcher Jane Vinesky of @mantatrust and @pelagioskakunja for a post-screening conversation about the healing power of the ocean and how to protect our ocean ecosystems.

For those carrying trauma, the ocean offers something no pill or prescription ever could: a quiet, immersive world where the past can be left on the surface.

Terry Kennedy, a Vietnam veteran, found that silence in the waters of Baja, with a giant manta named Willy beside him.

THE LAST DIVE is his story, and on August 19 we gather at the Balboa Theatre with the divers, healers, and veterans who live this truth every day.

Doctors and veterans around the world are turning to blue therapy, and the research is clear: time in or near the sea reduces stress, anxiety, and symptoms of PTSD. Beneath the waves, mobility returns, pain eases, and emotional barriers dissolve.

As one veteran who found blue therapy put it: « Underwater, the demons are silent. »

The ocean has a way of creating bonds that defy explanation. @thelastdivefilm tells the story of Terry — a Baja legend — and his extraordinary 22-ft oceanic manta ray companion, Willy. It’s one of those films that reminds you exactly what we’re fighting to protect.

Catch it in San Diego this August — and join our Executive Director Serge Dedina for a conversation about what stories like this mean for ocean conservation.

🎬 Premiere — Aug 19 @ Balboa Theatre, Downtown SD Red carpet, healing activation, Daybreaker dance party, raffle, and a panel with director Cody Sheehy, Terry Kennedy, Serge, and conservation leaders. A portion of proceeds benefits WILDCOAST.

🎬 Community Screening — Aug 20 @ La Paloma, Encinitas A more intimate evening with Serge in attendance.
