What a sight.

The WHOW Fleet assembled just outside Avalon Harbor for a breathtaking flyover by @tigersquadron - honoring our Vets before the Green Piet Weigh-In.

The ninth annual War Heroes on Water presented by @loandepot brought 130 combat-wounded Veterans together with Southern California’s sportfishing community, including more than 60 yachts and their dedicated owners, captains and crews, for an extraordinary experience centered on fishing, healing, connection and camaraderie.

#WHOW2026 raised a record-breaking tournament total of more than $2 million, with proceeds benefiting @freedom.alliance and supporting its year-round work for combat-wounded Veterans and military families.

This video offers a glimpse into the moments and connections that made this historic year unforgettable.

The tournament may be over, but the WHOW family is for life.

The local community joined the #WHOW family for our biggest celebration yet as our teams returned from three unforgettable days on the water, weighed their catches and shared stories from their time at sea during War Heroes on Water presented by @loanDepot.

Tonight, our Veterans will reunite with their captains and crews for the awards ceremony, where we will celebrate the tournament results and, most importantly, the lasting bonds forged along the way.

For many Veterans, one of the hardest parts of life after service is leaving behind the close relationships and camaraderie formed during military service.

This year, for the first time, @warheroesonwater welcomed loanDepot employees into the experience. Loan Consultant Kevin Shangraw and Retail Branch Manager Mac Verdi joined fellow combat Veterans for a weekend built on connection, camaraderie, and shared understanding.

We’re proud to support a mission that brings Veterans together, creates lasting friendships, and reminds those who served that they are never alone. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 24 hours into War Heroes on Water 2026 🇺🇸

This weekend is about so much more than fishing.

We have the incredible honor of hosting two combat veterans aboard our yacht for a few days on the water. Creating space for camaraderie, connection, adventure, and the healing that can come from simply being out in God’s creation on the water. 🙌

So far, we’ve put a yellowfin tuna on the boat 🎣, landed some solid sized rockfish, lost a couple of marlin 😩… and made a whole lot of memories.

But the fish are just a bonus.

War Heroes on Water is about honoring the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and giving them an opportunity to unplug, connect with fellow veterans, and enjoy some time on the ocean. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 it’s in its 9th year. This is our second year being a host boat. Thank you to @badcompanyfishingadventures and @warheroesonwater for putting on such an incredible event for amazing cause. It’s a privilege having these veterans onboard 🇺🇸

And we’re only 24 hours in… 🎣⚓️
