CALLING ALL SPORTSPEOPLE: STAND WITH BETH DOBBIN As a child, Beth Dobbin dreamed of sprinting on the world stage - inspired by icons like Jessica Ennis-Hill to turn that dream into reality. Success was never handed to her. Beth spent years grafting her way to the top, balancing gruelling elite training with multiple part-time jobs just to keep running. That relentless drive paid off: she became a British 200m champion, smashed a 34-year-old Scottish record, and proudly represented Great Britain & Scotland on the global stage. But her hardest battle was yet to come. At just 31, Beth was forced into premature retirement by severe ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). Today, this world-class athlete is housebound and bed bound for over 22 hours a day. ME is widely misunderstood. If you find yourself wondering how an athlete with Beth's legendary work ethic could suddenly stop, the answer is simple: she didn't stop. This devastating illness takes everything. Beth has written directly to Prime Minister Andy Burnham, requesting a face-to-face meeting to secure critical funding for biomedical ME research and specialist clinical care. Over 360 sports stars have already signed an open letter backing her cause. Now, I am asking the rest of the sporting community to rally behind one of your own. Athletes, coaches, and sports professionals: Please use your platform. Amplify Beth’s voice, share her story, and help her secure this vital meeting with Downing Street. If you are a sports professional who wants to add your name to the open letter and back Beth, please reach out to her directly. Let’s get her the meeting she deserves. #BethDobbin #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis #MEawareness #MillionsMissing #MEresearch by @warr10rs
Earlier this year, British sprinter Beth Dobbin announced her retirement from athletics following a serious, life-changing illness. For so many of us, Beth became an absolute fan favourite. Her journey proved that it doesn't matter how long it takes to reach your goals - if you have a dream and dedicate yourself to it, anything is possible. Witnessing her win the 200m title at the 2018 British Championships in person remains one of my all-time favourite athletics memories. The pure joy on her face that day showed exactly what happens when years of relentless training and juggling multiple jobs finally pay off. Beth’s sister Faye is taking on the @yorkshiremarathon to raise vital funds for ME Research UK. Reading Faye’s story on her JustGiving page makes it incredibly clear just how much this cause means to their family. The athletics community has always been a powerful, supportive family. We support our athletes through every high and low on the track, and right now, one of our favourites needs that same support away from it. Please consider supporting Faye and Beth. You can find the link to Faye’s JustGiving page directly in my bio. Whether you are able to make a donation (no matter how small) or simply share her page to spread the word, every bit of support makes a massive difference. #athletics #trackandfield #meresearchuk #myalgicencephalomyelitis #yorkshiremarathon2026 by @warr10rs
A monument to a man who didn't just define a sport - he won the heart of an entire town. Standing before this statue in Believe Square will hit differently now. It stands as a permanent home for the very spirit of rugby league, honouring the late, legendary Sir Billy Boston KBE. On the field, Billy was an unstoppable giant. 571 career tries, a World Cup winner, a trailblazer who shattered racial barriers, and the first-ever rugby league player to be knighted. Yet off the field, his warmth and humility were his true superpowers. Despite his towering fame, he remained the gentlest, most grounded man you could ever meet. To Wigan, Billy wasn't just a superstar - he was family. For 15 years, he lit up Central Park. But his greatest legacy wasn't his club-record 478 tries - it was how deeply he loved the town, and how fiercely Wigan loved him back. He didn't just play for the community, he became the absolute heartbeat of it. Thank you for everything, Sir Billy. #SirBillyBoston #Wigan #CentralPark #RugbyLeague #Cardiff by @warr10rs
Dozily forgot to include this one in my previous batch of photos! Looking down to look back in time outside Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall.Embedded into the pavement on Church Street is this beautiful ceramic roundel—one of a series of custom historic markers created by ceramic artist Ned Heywood for The Stratford Society's Historic Spine Initiative. These artistic trail markers are laid directly into the ground to highlight the town's most important architectural gems, offering a brilliant, literal step back through Stratford's incredible medieval history. A closer look at the magnificent Gower Memorial in Bancroft Gardens. Unveiled in 1888, this Grade II listed masterpiece took Lord Ronald Gower 12 years to design and model in Paris. At the very top sits a thoughtful William Shakespeare, surrounded by four life-size statues on individual plinths. Each figure beautifully personifies a different genre of his legendary writing: - Falstaff representing Comedy - Prince Hal representing History - Lady Macbeth representing Tragedy - Hamlet representing Philosophy Look right behind each character to see the intricately sculpted bronze masks and symbolic flowers, like English roses for history and wild poppies for tragedy. Dating back to 1500, The Falcon Hotel (now Hotel Indigo) is a gorgeous piece of 16th-century history. Look closely and you can see layers of time in its famous black-and-white timber framing—the top floor wasn’t even added until 1645! Sitting directly opposite Shakespeare's final home, this Grade II* listed building is a true Stratford icon. Built by the Guild of the Holy Cross between 1417 and 1428, this exceptional half-timbered row houses both Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall and The Almshouses. The Guildhall upper floor is famously where a young William Shakespeare sat at his desk in the 1570s, learning the Latin that would later shape his plays. Directly adjacent, the stunning Grade I listed Almshouses have provided shelter and community housing for local elderly residents for nearly 600 years — and remarkably, they still se by @warr10rs

Don't skip a morning stroll to #HolyTrinityChurch ⛪ when in #StratfordUponAvon! At 800+ years old, this stunning spot is history come to life. It’s the final resting place of William #Shakespeare, complete with a legendary curse on his gravestone warning anyone who dares move his bones 💀. Inside, look for the rare "weeping chancel" (only 6 exist in the UK). Outside, find the two rowan trees planted for his children, Judith and #Hamnet. Spot Judith’s pink spring blossoms 🌸 or Hamnet’s vibrant autumn berries 🍒 depending on when you visit! by @warr10rs
Cancelled previews and train chaos couldn't stop me from making it to the Royal #Shakespeare Theatre for the first matinee performance of #GameOfThrones: #TheMadKing! At nearly 4 hours long, this is a production of truly epic proportions. I swore an oath as a Sworn Shield 🛡️ so my lips are sealed on the plot, but it is an absolute 5⭐ masterpiece. George R. R. Martin’s #Westeros meets the RSC’s elite stagecraft seamlessly. It's completely sold out, but I'm calling it now: this is heading straight to London's "WestEnderos" soon! 🤪 Huge congrats to the cast and crew. P.S. Had to bring out the GoT-inspired 👕 for the fit of the day! #GoTOnStage by @warr10rs
thanks to @noalibisbookstore I have managed to get my hands on a signed copy of @ciaramageeanrun's autobiography My Greatest Race 👟 always worth supporting an independent bookshop 📚 as opposed to shopping with the large chains. glad I spotted Ciara's post about her recent book signing at the shop ✍🏻 and look forward to reading her inspirational story by @warr10rs
my last batch of photos snapped at the Betfred Women's Super League match between derby rivals Wigan Warriors and St Helens at Edge Hall Road Community Stadium, this match was very different from the Challenge Cup Final a few weeks ago as the scoreline flipped back and forth to each team eventually the 🍒& ⚪s took the points with a 32-28 victory, points were scored for Wigan by Eva Hunter (2 tries), Anna Davies (2 tries), Mary Coleman (1 try) and Izzy Rowe (1 try & 4 goals) thank you to @meganwill198, @bethandainton8, @berisalihi and @ellisederbyshire_ for signing ✍🏻 my player cards after the match #WiganWarriors #rugbyleague by @warr10rs
pre and post game snaps taken featuring Wigan Warriors forward Kelsey Gentles at Edge Hall Road Community Stadium for the Betfred Women's Super League fixture against derby rivals St Helens I think Kelsey (not so) Gentles would be a more apt name given some of her big hits on the opposition today 💪🏽 #WiganWarriors #rugbyleague by @warr10rs
