Landlords and letting agents are invited to attend the next Warwick District Landlord Forum on Wednesday 21 October from 12.30pm at The SYDNI Centre in Leamington Spa.

This popular event brings together around 100 landlords, letting agents and other professionals working in the private rented sector, providing an opportunity to keep up to date with important changes, hear from industry experts and network with others working in the sector.

We are celebrating national recognition for our long-standing partnership with idverde, after our grounds maintenance partner won a prestigious British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) National Landscape Award for its work at Jephson Gardens.

We have worked in partnership with idverde to maintain Jephson Gardens since 2013. Together, our teams have achieved consecutive Green Flag Awards and Green Heritage Site accreditations, reflecting the high standards delivered through careful management, horticultural excellence and conservation.

New dual recycling and litter bins installed across Warwick district are already helping residents and visitors recycle on the go, with more than 800kg of material diverted from landfill since they were installed in June.

The bins have been installed in high footfall areas including Parade in Royal Leamington Spa, Market Place in Warwick, Abbey End in Kenilworth and Acre Close in Whitnash.

Previously, all waste was placed in standard litter bins, meaning recyclable materials often became contaminated and could not be recycled.

All recyclable material collected from the new bins is sent to Sherbourne Recycling, the state-of-the-art materials recycling facility that Warwick District Council is partnered with.

So far 14 bins have been installed, with plans for more to be available across the district.

Councillor Will Roberts, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood said:

"These dual recycling and litter bins make it easier than ever for people to recycle when they're out and about. Whether you're enjoying a day in the town centre, visiting one of our parks, or commuting to work, you now have the opportunity to recycle on the go and help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill." by @warwick.dc

We are seeking the views of residents and businesses on proposed options to update and modernise the Smoke Control Areas (SCAs) across the district.

🔥 Smoke Control Areas do not ban the use of solid fuels, they just ensure that appropriate fuels are used on open fires.

We are consulting on six potential options. Responses to the consultation can be submitted online on our website, or you can request a paper copy.

Tree works have begun on 19 trees at Edmondscote Athletics Track.

The Poplars are to be felled or cut back on safety grounds, due to their location bordering the popular sports facilities used on a daily basis by both adults and children.

Over the past few months, the trees have been carefully monitored by the District Council’s Green Spaces and County Council’s Forestry teams. It has since become apparent that the disease which affected several trees felled in February 2025 has spread through the root system to many of the remaining trees.

Councillor Will Roberts, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood commented:

“As custodians of this well used facility our priority is always to ensure the safety of the public. Though it is sad to see the removal of any tree, safety remains our priority. The planned relocation of the athletics facility will see the site become part of Elizabeth Park, where replacement trees will be planted.” by @warwick.dc
