As we conclude the MPSF Summer Series “Throwback Thursdays,” we’re looking back at a championship moment for the 2026 University of Washington Men’s Rowing team.

Trailing California entering the final 500 meters of the IRA National Championship, the Huskies delivered when it mattered most — surging ahead in the final 100 meters to win by two seats and 1.059 seconds in 5:37.493.

The victory secured Washington’s third consecutive national title and the program’s 22nd overall.

Sam Ford was named MPSF Athlete of the Year, Nikita Jacobs earned MPSF Coxswain of the Year, and Michael Callahan was named MPSF Coach of the Year.

The championship also became the 127th national title in MPSF history and helped cap a record-setting six national championships for the conference during the academic year.

One final #TBT for the champs. 🏆
