Scared to get adjusted? Not sure what to expect? Dr. Oglesby walks us through what a typical first appointment looks like!

1️⃣ Starting with a chat about your medical history (breaks, surgeries, strokes, etc.) our doctors will be able to get a better understanding of who you are!

2️⃣ Little exam, determining range of motion, your
capabilities, and so on!

3️⃣ Saving the best for last, the adjustment! If everything seems clear, then they’ll get you on the table for an adjustment!

Does trying shockwave spook you? 👻⚡️

There’s a first time for everything, even for @drlisagoodman! Here’s a sneak peak into what your first shockwave treatment can look and feel like.⬇️⬇️

Shockwave utilizes high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It helps stimulate tissue repair, reduce pain & improve mobility. It is commonly used to address tendonopathies, muscle strains, myofascial conditions, and repetitive stress injuries like tennis elbow. It can also improve pain management, helping to stimulate the body’s own repair mechanisms and promote healing.

During a Shockwave Therapy session, a handheld device is used to deliver controlled acoustic pulses to the targeted area. This process creates microtrauma in the affected tissues, which stimulates the body’s repair mechanisms.

For athletes, this is used to support soft tissue recovery and minimize downtime, while individuals with chronic pain or stiffness find relief through the therapy’s ability to enhance circulation and repair cells. 💪

Ask your chiro if shockwave is the right fit for you at your next visit!

Goodbye and good luck, Dr. Johnston! Dr. Johnston is leaving WPC to start his own practice in Lafayette and we are so excited for him. It has been an honor to have you on the WPC team the last 4 years. Thank you for your years of service, sharing your knowledge, and all your dad jokes. Fun fact, Dr. J was also an intern with us way back in 2018, swipe to the last slide to see him as a baby chiro 💙

Dear Wash Park Chiro,

This isn’t goodbye... It’s just see ya later.

As many of you know, I live up in Erie, and it’s time for me to be closer to home, especially as my littles become not so little. I’m opening my own chiropractic clinic in Lafayette, called Coal Creek Chiropractic, where I’ll be specializing in caring for patients who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to treat such amazing people here at WPC. Y’all have taught me so much, and it’s truly been an honor to be trusted with your chiropractic and healthcare needs.

I also want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Goodman for the opportunity to be part of Washington Park Chiropractic and for all of her support, mentorship, and guidance over the years. I’ve learned so much during my time here, not only as a chiropractor, but also about running a practice and taking care of a community. I’ll carry all of those lessons with me into this next chapter.

I wish all of you the very, very best with everything life has in store for you! I’m excited for this new adventure, but so sad to leave my Wash Park fam.

‘Til we meet again. Cheers, y’all!
-Dr. Johnston

All of his current patients will be transferred over to Dr. Oglesby and Dr. Belz’s care after Dr. J’s last day on Sept 29th (today). Please chat with the front desk or a doctor to see which provider will be the best fit for you! by @washparkchiro
