A really exciting project just got some additional funding with a grant from OKI. Phase 7 of Wasson Way will connect Avondale to MLK Drive in Clifton, bridging the gap between Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati. This is especially cool because today, Cincinnati announced the E-Bike Incentive Program. Funding from the Bloomberg Foundation is making electric bikes more affordable by offering interest free payment plans at a local bike shop. by @wassonway

🚨Hyde Park! New Station Alert!

Last week we installed our first station in Hyde Park 😊

The Wasson Way @ Paxton Station is located at the intersection of Wasson Rd. and Paxton Ave.

To celebrate our first station in Hyde Park we are giving the user with the first checkout a free monthly Red Bike Membership!

Big thanks to our @cincyrec Youth2Work Interns Trayvon and Amir for their help this week at DOTE! We used @cincyredbike to knockout bollard inventory along the Wasson Way shared path.

(There is a such thing as too many keys…. )

These two learned about the growing bike network, rode electric bikes and bikeshare for the first time, and took their longest bike ride (8 miles) to date, while also assisting the department with documenting bollard conditions and prepping work orders.

Looks like @metromantray buses AND bikes now! ✨ Great timing, because we heard @cincinnatimetro and @cincyredbike are considering stations along Wasson Way. This crew definitely supports it! 👍 by @wassonway

Wasson Way Phase 6B is officially open!

This morning, we cut the ribbon on a crucial new connection in the @crowncincinnati trail network, extending the trail across Montgomery Road and into @xavieruniversity ’s campus.

Thanks to the new signalized crosswalk, people walking and biking can cross with ease, and we’re thrilled to report that the button is immediate. There is no waiting, just safe, seamless travel.

Speakers shared their excitement about the growing trail network and emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety and connectivity.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this moment possible: the City Of Cincinnati Government, Xavier University, Cincinnati Metro, the State of Ohio General Assembly, and our generous donors to the CROWN Capital Campaign.

Onward to a more connected Cincinnati!

Wasson Way Phase 6B Ribbon Cutting!

📍 West side of Montgomery Rd, on Xavier University's campus

We’re thrilled to celebrate the official opening of @wassonway Phase 6B! This new segment extends the trail across Montgomery Road and into Xavier University’s campus. With fresh pavement and a new signalized crosswalk, it’s now safer and easier than ever to travel this corridor on foot or by bike.

This expansion was made possible by $450,000 from the CROWN Capital Campaign and $900,000 in grant funding, thanks to the support of @xavieruniversity, the @city_of_cincy, @cincinnatimetro, and the State of Ohio.

Come celebrate this exciting milestone and see how your support is helping build a more connected, vibrant, and accessible Cincinnati! by @wassonway

If you are into gardening, or want to learn more about it, join the Wasson Way Master Gardeners for these gardening events on the Wasson Way in May and June:

🗓️Sat. 5/17 9-11am weeding - Meet at Michigan and Wasson Rd
🗓️Fri. 6/13 8-10am weeding - Meet at Paxton and Wasson Rd
🗓️Sat. 6/14 8-10am weeding - Meet at Eastern Hills trail head (Marburg Rd. end)
🗓️Sat. 6/28 8-10am - Meet at Madison and Wasson
🗓️Fri. 7/25 8-10am - Meet at Paxton and Wasson
🗓️Sat. 7/26 8-10am - Meet at Madison and Wasson
🗓️Sat. 8/16 8-10am - Meet at Paxton and Wasson
🗓️Mon. 8/18 8-10am - Meet at Marburg and Madison

All are welcome, including kids of all ages! This is a great opportunity to spend some time together as a family and to do something for your community. No prior experience or gardening expertise is required.

Cincinnati Master Gardeners and our Landscape Committee members will be supervising and providing instructions. Just show up at the designated meeting place and time!
Bring work gloves, a hat and some water.
We have the tools and tasks. Hope to see you there!
