About him:
Knox Ryan Doyle grew up in a house that never felt safe. His father drank heavily and unpredictably. Loud nights blurred into broken glass and slammed doors. Quiet nights felt worse like waiting for a storm that hadn’t decided when to strike. His mother worked constantly to compensate. She loved her sons, but exhaustion left little room for protection. So Knox became the protector.
When his baby brother, Cameron Lee Doyle, was born, Knox was eleven. Cameron, who Knox called “Cami”, became Knox’s responsibility in every way that mattered. Feeding him. Bathing him. Rocking him to sleep while arguments raged downstairs.
Cami adored him. Knox adored him more.
And because Knox had struggled with insomnia his entire life, staying awake for his brother felt natural.
It felt right.

The night Cameron died:
Cameron was six years old. There was shouting downstairs. Their father was drunk again. Knox locked the bedroom door and held Cami in his lap while thunder rolled outside. Cami was crying. Scared.
“Ox, make it stop.” Knox held him tighter.
And for the first time in his life, Knox’s ability surged uncontrolled. He felt it energy flowing into him. Warm. Bright. Powerful.
Cameron’s breathing slowed…Too much.
Knox pulled away immediately.
But Cami’s body had already gone limp.
Cameron’s official cause of death: sudden cardiac failure.
Unofficial cause: Knox Ryan Doyle.
Knox never told anyone. He never needed to. His father’s accusations on it were enough.

His vow to himself:
Knox was seventeen when Cameron died.
He is 23 now. (5ft’10in)(170-180lbs)
So for six years, he has refused to touch another human being.
That included:
-No handshakes
-No accidental brushes
-No comfort
-No contact

He doesn’t sleep. His power allows him to drain energy through physical contact and convert it into fuel for his own body. The more he absorbs, the less his body requires rest. In extreme cases, he can go months without sleep. But the longer he goes without draining someone, the more unstable he is, causing:
Tremors, Tunnel vision, Heart rhythm irregularities, Sudden fainting spells
He would rather collapse than risk hurting someone.
