Steve McQueen’s connection to the Hanhart 417 ES began decades before his signature appeared on its dial.

Historical photographs show him wearing the chronograph while racing and in everyday life. The new 417 ES Steve McQueen Limited Edition No. 1 draws directly on that connection, retaining the original’s 39 mm case diameter and pairing it with a dark brown Shell Cordovan cuff strap.

His grandchildren, Chase and Madison McQueen, proposed adding his signature to the dial and authorised its use for the edition.

Behind the sapphire caseback, the hand-wound AMT5100 M delivers at least 58 hours of power reserve. Its flyback function allows the running chronograph to reset and begin a new measurement with a single press.

A domed sapphire crystal, warm-toned Super-LumiNova and Hanhart’s red HyCeram pusher complete the watch.

Limited to 300 pieces worldwide.

Steve McQueen wore his own 417 ES on a dark brown leather cuff. For the new 417 ES Steve McQueen Limited Edition No. 1, Hanhart revisits that detail in Shell Cordovan, framing a 39 mm steel chronograph inspired by the historical watch.

The matte black dial combines the historical Hanhart logo, warm-toned Super-LumiNova and McQueen’s signature. A fluted, bidirectional bezel and the red HyCeram pusher preserve the distinctive appearance of the 417 ES.

Inside, the hand-wound AMT5100 M provides a flyback function and at least 58 hours of power reserve. The case measures 13.3 mm in height, including its domed sapphire crystal, and offers water resistance to 10 bar.

The presentation includes a numbered plaque and a limitation card inspired by McQueen’s 1964 racing licence, signed by his grandchildren Chase and Madison McQueen.

Limited to 300 pieces worldwide.

The new Luminor Firenze 8 Giorni PAM01794 marks 100 years of Panerai’s historic boutique at Piazza San Giovanni in Florence, where the brand has been present since 1926.

The watch takes its cues from a rare variation of the Ref. 6152/1 from the 1960s, most notably the “Panerai Firenze”signature on the dial. The 47 mm dimensions of the historical model have been reworked into a 44 mm steel case.

We had the PAM01794 in focus and on the wrist. Its black sandwich dial features a circular finish that becomes more apparent as the light changes, paired with blue hands. Inside, the hand-wound P.5000 offers an eight-day power reserve, while the closed steel caseback allows for 300 metres of water resistance.

The detail that brings Breguet’s new Marine collection into focus is the dial.

Hand-guilloché 18-carat gold appears across all six new interpretations of the Marine 5517 and Marine Chronographe 5527, including the titanium versions. The “Quai de l’Horloge” pattern draws on the contours of the Seine around the Île de la Cité and Île Saint-Louis, recalling Breguet’s historic Parisian workshop.

Arabic Breguet numerals, signature open-tipped hands and a date window at six give both models a beautifully balanced layout.

The 40 mm Marine 5517 pairs white gold with an ice-blue dial, rose gold with black, and titanium with blue and rose-gold details. Inside, automatic calibre 777A delivers a 55-hour power reserve.

The 42.3 mm Marine Chronographe 5527 combines blue gradient dials with white or rose gold, while titanium receives a grey gradient dial. Automatic calibre 582QA provides a flyback function, a 30-minute counter and a 48-hour power reserve.

Each version offers a choice of rubber strap or matching metal bracelet, with water resistance to 10 bar.

A compelling expression of a maritime connection that reaches back to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s appointment as watchmaker to the French Royal Navy in 1815.

Andy Warhol was known to own several Piaget watches, but there was one particular shape he kept coming back to. Introduced in 1972 as the “Black Tie”, the watch was purchased by the artist just one year later and now officially carries his name as one of the most recognisable designs in Piaget’s history.

Last week we got to spend some time with its many different faces at the Thomas Mang Studio in Munich. Hard to imagine a better setting considering the broad variety that design can take on.

The Warhol Watch is all about design and Piaget’s savoir faire, especially when it comes to the stone dials, which completely change the character of each watch while that particular shape remains instantly recognisable.

We tried them all and we’ll be seeing more rather soon...

Thirty years of Overseas, celebrated in azure blue.

Vacheron Constantin introduces a 200-piece edition of the Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, pairing a new azure-blue lacquered dial with an 18K white gold case and bracelet.

The sapphire caseback reveals a 22K gold oscillating weight decorated with a compass rose. The watch bears the Poinçon de Genève.

Delivered with its white gold bracelet and two interchangeable rubber straps in denim blue and white, this anniversary edition offers three distinct expressions of the same design.

Twelve gold knights. A forest shaped by light.

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur The Metamorph Merlin brings the Merlin trilogy to its final chapter, exploring the legendary sorcerer’s power to change form.

Its sculptural dial combines 57 individually crafted blocks arranged at different heights, with green-coated glass, transparent surfaces and polished pink gold creating an intricate architectural landscape. Nine green-coated Crystalium floor inlays add another layer beneath it.

Each of the twelve pink gold knights stands approximately 6 mm tall and requires around three days of hand-finishing by a specialist engraver. Individual poses, finely worked details and black patina give every figure its own character.

The story continues around the 45 mm pink gold case, where hand-engraved reliefs depict Merlin holding a book and taking the form of the mythical white stag.

Inside, the automatic RD821 combines a 48-hour power reserve with 14 finishing techniques and Poinçon de Genève certification. Its openworked rotor draws inspiration from medieval stained-glass windows.

Limited to 28 pieces.

Three watches with their own rhythm. Meet the new Glashütte Original 70s.

Inspired by vinyl records, guitar amplifiers and classic hi-fi equipment, the collection brings the textures and colours of analogue music culture to the wrist.

Vinyl Record combines a black Hexagrid dial with white gold hour and minute hands. Tweed Amp pairs warm brown with red gold accents, while Stereo Panel takes a cooler direction with a silver dial and black-coated solid gold hands and indices.

The softly rounded stainless steel case measures 39 × 39 mm and just 9.6 mm thick. Finely embossed dials, sculpted hands and alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces give each version plenty to discover up close.

Inside, the automatic manufacture movements run at 4 Hz and offer up to 100 hours of power reserve. Tweed Amp and Stereo Panel use calibre 36-11, while Vinyl Record features the technically identical calibre 36-10 with a darker finish.

Through the sapphire caseback, a decorated three-quarter plate, blued screws and a rotor with a 21 ct gold oscillating weight reveal the Glashütte craftsmanship behind the design.

The new Groove Lock system allows tool-free changes between steel bracelets and calfskin-lined rubber straps. Water resistance is 10 bar.

Limited to 500 pieces, Vinyl Record comes with both a steel bracelet and a black rubber strap.

Rolex gives the Padellone a new face and an annual calendar beneath it.

Inspired by the historic reference 8171, the new Perpetual Padellone brings together a classical calendar layout and the movement architecture introduced with the Land-Dweller.

Day and month appear at 12 o’clock, while a blue crescent-tipped hand indicates the date. At six, a fully visible blue enamel disc carries two meteorite moons, with a dark blue PVD coating distinguishing the new moon. Their position against a triangular index reveals the lunar phase.

Inside the 39 mm case, the new automatic calibre 7190 runs at 5 Hz and delivers approximately 66 hours of power reserve. Its Haplos system adds just two components to the date mechanism to distinguish between 30 and 31-day months. The annual calendar requires one correction each year, at the transition from February to March.

The calendar indications make synchronised, instantaneous changes at midnight and can be safely adjusted at any time.

Three versions introduce the model: 18 ct Everose gold with an intense white grained dial, paired with either the seven-row Settimo bracelet or a matt brown alligator strap, and 950 platinum with an ice-blue grained dial and a matt black alligator strap.

A sapphire caseback reveals the openworked yellow gold rotor and Rolex Côtes de Genève finishing. The case measures 12.20 mm in thickness, offers 50 metres of water resistance and carries Superlative Chronometer certification.

Two additional components give Rolex’s new calibre 7190 its annual calendar intelligence.

Developed for the Perpetual Padellone, the movement introduces Haplos: a system that adds an extra driving finger and an annual lever to the date mechanism. The calendar programme sits on the back of the month disc, allowing the mechanism to distinguish between months with 30 and 31 days. Just one calendar correction is needed each year, as February gives way to March.

The calendar indications make synchronised, instantaneous changes at midnight. Four correctors in the case sides allow the day, date, month and moonphase to be adjusted safely at any time.

Based on the calibre 7135 introduced with the Land-Dweller in 2025, the new automatic movement runs at 5 Hz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour, with approximately 66 hours of power reserve.

Its silicon Dynapulse escapement uses sequential distribution for high energy efficiency. A Syloxi silicon hairspring, ceramic balance staff and optimised Paraflex shock absorbers complete the regulating assembly. Rolex cites 30 patent applications protecting the calibre, including two exclusive to the 7190.

Through the sapphire caseback, an openworked yellow gold rotor winds in both directions above bridges decorated with Rolex Côtes de Genève. Look closely at the stripes: a fine polished groove separates each one, distinguishing this finish from traditional Geneva stripes.

The 35-jewel movement is tested after casing to an accuracy of −2/+2 seconds per day under Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer certification.

Behind the Padellone’s classical calendar display lies a very contemporary piece of Rolex engineering.

Rolex revives the Padellone name with an annual calendar and a moonphase crafted from meteorite.

Inspired by the historic reference 8171, the new Perpetual Padellone joins the 1908 in Rolex’s Perpetual collection. Its 39 mm case frames a grained dial with day and month windows at 12 o’clock, a blue crescent-tipped pointer date and a moonphase display at six.

The lunar display deserves a closer look. Both the full and new moons are made from meteorite, with a dark blue PVD coating distinguishing the new moon. Set against blue enamel, the fully visible disc completes one rotation every 29.53 days, with a triangular index indicating the phase.

Three versions make their debut: 18 ct Everose gold with an intense white dial, paired with either the seven-row Settimo bracelet or a matt brown alligator strap, and 950 platinum with an ice-blue dial and a matt black alligator strap. The bracelet features a concealed Crownclasp, while both leather straps use a Dualclasp folding clasp.

Inside, the new automatic calibre 7190 combines a 5 Hz frequency with approximately 66 hours of power reserve. Its Haplos annual calendar distinguishes between 30 and 31-day months, requiring just one calendar correction each year, at the transition from February to March.

A sapphire caseback reveals the movement beneath the 12.20 mm case. Water resistance is 50 metres, while Superlative Chronometer certification specifies an accuracy of −2/+2 seconds per day after casing.

A familiar name from Rolex’s past, with plenty to discover on both sides of the watch.
