I found this screenshot from 2019.

My bank balance was $0.50.

Not $500.
Not even $50.

Fifty cents.

At that point in my life, I was still trying to figure everything out. No clear path, no big wins, just showing up every day and hoping things would eventually make sense.

There were moments where it felt like I was behind in life. Like everyone else had things figured out while I was still trying to find my footing.

But I kept going.

Slowly things started to change.
Opportunities came. Lessons came. Responsibilities came.

Today when I see that screenshot, I don’t feel embarrassed by it.

I’m grateful for it.

Because it reminds me that life can move a long way when you refuse to stay stuck.

The clip after this isn’t about flexing purchases.
It’s just a reminder to myself how far things can change.

From $0.50 in my bank account
to signing new purchases today.

Still the same person.
Just a little older, a little wiser, and a lot more grateful.

I’ve bought watches before to celebrate my achievements.

My first Rolex at retail in Singapore, and the easiest decision I’ve ever made, because it was never meant for me.

These past months you put yourself second for our daughter every single day. I couldn’t give you rest, I couldn’t make motherhood easier… but I could make sure you know you were appreciated.

This watch isn’t about luxury.
It’s about time. the time you gave to our child, and the lifetime I want to spend with you.

These past 6 months changed my life.

Not because I became a father.
Because I watched my wife become a mother.

The world only sees the baby photos and the happy moments. I saw the difficult ones, the nights with almost no sleep, the worry, the exhaustion, and still she put our daughter first every single day.

Back in October I quietly placed a deposit. I had to act normal all this while and pretend I forgot about it.

Today I told her we were going to MBS for my watch content.
We didn’t.

This bracelet will never equal what you’ve done…
but I hope every time you wear it, you remember that I noticed and I appreciated you.

Four Reversos. Four views of Venice. Just 10 pieces each. 🎨

The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel “Turner Series” might just be some of the most beautiful Reversos I’ve ever had on my wrist.

The front alone is special, hand-guilloché patterns beneath translucent Grand Feu enamel, each designed to complement what’s hiding on the reverse.

Flip them over and you’ll find four works by J.M.W. Turner depicting Venice, recreated by JLC’s master enamellers in miniature on a canvas of just 2cm².

Each miniature takes around 80 hours to paint by hand, built up with at least 14 layers of enamel.

It’s one of those watches where you almost forget to check the time. You just keep flipping it over.

Watchmaking on one side. Fine art on the other.

My first international watch event… and of course, it had to be @jaegerlecoultre . 🇨🇳

The Valley of Inventions in Shanghai was incredible, but as always, it was the people behind the watches that made the experience for me.

Getting to meet the watchmakers and artisans, watching them practise their craft up close, and even trying my own hand at beveling gave me a whole new appreciation for the amount of skill and patience that goes into what we wear on our wrists.

I even got to keep the little piece I worked on as a memento from Shanghai, definitely something I’ll be holding on to. 😂

Thank you to all the watchmakers and artisans who took the time to share their craft and stories with me. And of course, to Bruce for being part of yet another chapter of this JLC journey. ❤️

The watches are incredible.

But the people behind them are what make this hobby special.

The Valley of Inventions is open at Zhangyuan, Shanghai until 23 September.

Getting a new custom watch strap for my JLC Reverso, right here at a local strap store 🇸🇬

My first time experiencing the custom strap process with @nomadwatchworks , and I genuinely loved it. From choosing the leather to deciding on the little details, there’s something special about having a strap made specifically for your watch.

I went with ostrich leather for the Reverso, and I love how it completely changes the character of the watch.

For anyone thinking of getting one made, a custom strap typically takes around 2–4 weeks from order to completion.

Always nice discovering and supporting what we have locally. 🙌🏻

There’s something quite poetic about another Datejust entering the collection at this point in our lives.

The first Datejust I ever bought wasn’t for me, it was for my wife, as a push present when we welcomed our daughter into the world.

And now, just after celebrating her first birthday, I somehow find myself with a Datejust of my own, the Wimbledon 36.

Two Datejusts, bought a year apart, each tied to a different moment in the same chapter of our lives.

I’ve always said watches are more than just the objects we collect. Years from now, I probably won’t remember the allocation or what was happening in the watch world.

But I’ll remember exactly what life looked like when this was on my wrist. ❤️

Just another evening with Jaeger-LeCoultre… or so I thought. 😂

What started with exploring some incredible timepieces and watching JLC’s youngest Master Enameller at work somehow ended with me feeling like a celebrity for 5 seconds… before realizing the crowd was actually waiting for Kim Woo-bin. 😂

Still pretending they were there for me though.
