1M+ plastic nurdles found in 6 countries. This is the staggering result of our 2026 International Plastic Pellet Count.Throughout May, more than 1,000 volunteers documented nearly 1.1 million plastic pellets—more than 22x last year’s total—across global waterways.18 Waterkeeper groups helped recover and remove 724,952 pellets, highlighting the scale of pollution in communities from Texas to Australia.Plastic pellet pollution is a global crisis hiding in plain sight.
