Last night, Watermark was honored to take part in Spirit of America, a nationwide, simultaneous reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Gathering on the historic grounds of the Maryland State House, we joined communities across the country in reflecting on the words, promises, and complexity of this founding document 250 years after its first public reading.

A special thank you to our guests Elaine Rice Bachmann, Maryland State Archivist; Robin Gower, Curator of the Maryland Commission of Artistic Properties; Delegate Dylan Behler; and Delegate Dana Jones for joining us.

We are also grateful to Chesapeake Crossroads for organizing local participation here in Anne Arundel County and helping bring this meaningful moment to our community.
