I finished Dan Brown's newest novel The Secret of Secrets. After rereading Digital Fortress and teeth gnashing my way through it due to the sexism, I was hesitant to pick this one up, but it seems Dan Brown has grown since his first novel hit the shelves. What a relief! While most characters are slightly one dimensional, I loved Heide Nagel and Sasha Vesna as side characters, and there was always a sense that I was missing something important...and I was! I'm curious how they're gonna do this on the big screen!

May wrapup🌸🌸

What a month! I went to Linköping (Sweden) this month, where I had a blast. I wish I could move to Scandinavia, I've had nothing but good experiences there.

“It turned out that some crooked things looked even worse when straightened. Some tangled knots only made sense once unraveled.”

After bingeing the first two seasons of @siloappletv, I knew I had to go to the book to get some answers. And while I did get some answers, I definitely am still left with a whole bunch of questions that haven't been answered.

The first two seasons of the show roughly cover this book, but the book is endlessly more gruesome and dark. I enjoyed myself a lot, and it's so different from most other books that I read. I can't wait to get my hands on the right edition of Shift...Vinted has so far let me down, but I am a patient woman with over 180 unread books on her TBR. I'll manage.

I think I'll continue with Sunrise on the Reaping next...when I come back home from spending the weekend at my partner's, because I did not expect to finish this book this weekend!

❓QOTD: What are you reading this weekend?

@Chapter.Chatter.Collabs presents to you our collab with the theme: Fire, Courage & Rebellion 🔥🗡️

Not every story plays it safe.
Some spark revolutions. Some rise from the ashes. Some refuse to bow, no matter the cost. Today we’re celebrating the characters fueled by fire, driven by courage, and bold enough to stand against everything meant to break them. Because sometimes the most powerful stories are the ones that dare to fight back. 🔥📚

🔥📚⚔️🛡️👑✨

There's nothing like female rage, and most if not all of these books feature those. Wu Zeitan is tired of young girls being the sacrifice for the glory of males, and plots to end the practice. The Eastwood Sisters put aside their differences and face the ultimate sacrifice so that women may live in peace. And Katniss Everdeen burns the entire system to the ground for her little sister.

I plan on reading Sunrise on the Reaping next; I'm a little afraid to start it, to be honest! I've seen so many people say it broke them lol.

🔥📚⚔️🛡️👑✨

@Chapter.Chatter.Collabs presents to you our collab for Earth Day!

Turning pages and protecting the planet 🌎From magical forests to dystopian wastelands, stories remind us what we stand to lose and what we can protect.
Plot twist: we only get one Earth… so let’s take care of it like it’s our favorite story. ✨Happy Earth Day!

🌎📚🌿💚✨🌍

This world is all we have - for now. So we should be careful with it. Project Hail Mary goes in a different direction; while we're fighting to end climate change, they sped it up, just to save the world a few more years...that must've been a difficult decision. And in Leviathan Wakes, we find out that not only can we live somewhere else than Earth, but there are more and different kinds out there...and that they may not be friendly.

Happy Earth Day! Please take care of our planet <3

@Chapter.Chatter.Collabs presents to you our collab with the theme: Character Collab - Dreams, Fate & Illusion 🌙✨

Today we’re celebrating the characters caught between fate and free will, chasing visions, unraveling illusions, and questioning everything they thought they knew. Because sometimes the most powerful stories live somewhere between reality… and something more. 🌙📚

🌙📚✨🕯️🔮💫

Percy Jackson and his friends are fated in one way or the other to save or destroy the world...through vague prophecies, terrifying dreams, and unhelpful Godly parents, they have to make it work!

And what if you're fated to end up together, but someone else is fated to keep you apart? Justinian Huang explores fate and relationship dynamics throughout history, with a healthy side of smut...

🌙📚✨🕯️🔮💫

Step into everyone else’s dreamy, fate-filled picks:

❓QOTD - Do you believe you're fated to do something? If so, do you know what it is?
