A HUGE congratulations to Rozlynn Girard on her commitment to St. Olaf College to continue her softball career! 🥎🎓

Roz is proof that great things come to those who refuse to quit. A catcher from Washington State, she made the commitment to travel to Southern California to compete with the Watson Wolfpack — putting in the miles, navigating injuries, pushing through the hard days, and continuing to show up.

Through every challenge, Roz persevered, competed, and believed in herself. And today, that hard work pays off.

St. Olaf is getting a tough, resilient, team-first catcher who knows what it means to work for something and never give up on the goal. 💪🔥

This month, I incorporated more jump squats and quick hops into our athletes’ training. It might look like we’re just jumping, but there’s a purpose behind it.

Baseball and softball athletes constantly have to accelerate, decelerate, change direction, react, and produce force again. Whether it’s exploding out of the box, stealing a base, or reacting defensively, being fast is only part of the equation. They also need to know how to control their body and absorb force.

A big thank you to Coach Gary Cablayan @garycablayan for teaching me these jump squat and quick-hop concepts. As a coach, I believe I should always be learning so I can continue bringing more back to my athletes. 🙏

And for the parents watching: skill lessons are important. Hitting, pitching, catching, and fielding all have their place. But strength & conditioning shouldn’t be forgotten. We’re developing the body that has to perform those skills. Don’t just invest in the position they play. Invest in the athlete who plays the position. ⚾🥎💪 by @watson_wolfpack
