The last day on the road. ❤️

After one final ferry across the Baltic, I arrived in Grisslehamn for the last 138 km to Stockholm.

Sweden gave me the perfect final stage: quiet roads, endless forests, lakes and plenty of short climbs through the countryside. 🌲🚲

As the kilometers passed, everything slowly changed. More houses, more people, more cycle paths… Stockholm was getting closer.

And that felt strange.

After almost three weeks of waking up every morning to keep moving forward, today I was riding towards the place where I knew I had to stop.

Tired legs, happy head… and enjoying every last kilometer. ❤️

🇪🇸 Etapa Final – EuroVelo 10 | Eckerö 🇦🇽 → Estocolmo 🇸🇪

El último día en ruta. ❤️

Después de un último ferry cruzando el Báltico, llegué a Grisslehamn para afrontar los últimos 138 km hasta Estocolmo.

Suecia me regaló una etapa final perfecta: carreteras tranquilas, bosques interminables, lagos y muchísimos repechos. 🌲🚲

Con los kilómetros todo fue cambiando. Más casas, más gente, más carriles bici… Estocolmo estaba cada vez más cerca.

Y la sensación era rara.

Después de casi tres semanas levantándome cada mañana para seguir avanzando, hoy pedaleaba hacia el lugar donde sabía que tenía que parar.

Piernas cansadas, cabeza feliz… y disfrutando cada último kilómetro. ❤️

🇪🇺 E10 – FINAL STAGE | Eckerö 🇦🇽 → Stockholm 🇸🇪

🇬🇧 One last ferry. One last country. One last ride.

The day started early in Eckerö, putting Schatzi on a ferry one final time and crossing the Baltic towards Grisslehamn, Sweden. 🇸🇪⛴️

From there, 138 km stood between me and Stockholm.

Sweden made sure the last stage wasn’t going to be a ceremonial ride: endless forests, quiet roads and constant short climbs that eventually added up to 1,280 meters of elevation.

Little by little the forests disappeared, cycle paths appeared and Stockholm started to feel real.

Then suddenly… the Royal Palace. The finish line.

After almost three weeks travelling through the Baltic by bicycle, there was nowhere else left to pedal to.

E10 completed. ❤️

🇪🇸 Un último ferry. Un último país. Una última etapa.

El día empezó temprano en Eckerö, subiendo a Schatzi a un ferry por última vez para cruzar el Báltico rumbo a Grisslehamn, Suecia. 🇸🇪⛴️

Desde ahí, 138 km me separaban de Estocolmo.

Suecia se aseguró de que la última etapa no fuera simplemente un paseo hasta la meta: bosques interminables, carreteras tranquilas y pequeños repechos constantes que terminaron sumando 1.280 metros de desnivel.

Poco a poco desaparecieron los bosques, aparecieron los carriles bici y Estocolmo empezó a sentirse cada vez más cerca.

Y de repente… el Palacio Real. La meta.

Después de casi tres semanas recorriendo el Báltico en bicicleta, ya no quedaba ningún lugar al que pedalear.

E10 completada. ❤️

🇬🇧 Final Stage – EuroVelo 10 | Eckerö 🇦🇽 → Stockholm 🇸🇪

After almost three weeks on the road, I think I’ve confirmed something I already knew:

Happiness can actually be pretty simple.

We spend so much time making life complicated, looking for more, planning what comes next… when sometimes happiness is just knowing where you feel good and what makes you feel alive.

Today, riding through the forests of Sweden with a huge smile on my face, I knew exactly where mine was.

🚲 A bike.
🌲 Being connected with nature.
☕ And obviously, a really good coffee somewhere along the way.

That’s pretty much it.

Do you know where your happiness is?

Después de casi tres semanas en ruta, creo que confirmé algo que en el fondo ya sabía:

La felicidad puede ser bastante simple.

Pasamos muchísimo tiempo complicándonos la vida, buscando más, pensando en lo próximo… cuando a veces la felicidad es simplemente saber dónde estás bien y qué cosas te hacen sentir vivo.

Hoy, pedaleando por los bosques de Suecia con una sonrisa enorme, tenía clarísimo dónde estaba la mía.

🚲 Una bicicleta.
🌲 Conectar con la naturaleza.
☕ Y, obviamente, un buen café en algún lugar del camino.

No necesito mucho más.

🇬🇧 Stage 13 – EuroVelo 10 | Brändö 🇦🇽 → Eckerö 🇦🇽

Sometimes the sun changes everything. ☀️🚲

After so many days watching the weather, dealing with rain and riding under grey skies, having the sun back completely changed the feeling of the day.

Crossing Vårdö towards Fasta Åland, the route continued along quiet roads surrounded by islands and the Baltic. And after the wind, the kilometers and all the logistics of the day, I finished with just a few kilometers towards my camping.

Nature. Silence. Schatzi. And almost nothing else.

After nearly three weeks on the road, I didn’t really need much more. ❤️

A veces que salga el sol lo cambia todo. ☀️🚲

Después de tantos días mirando el clima, peleando con la lluvia y pedaleando bajo cielos grises, volver a tener sol cambió completamente la sensación del día.

Cruzando Vårdö rumbo a Fasta Åland, la ruta siguió por carreteras tranquilas, rodeado de islas y del Báltico. Y después del viento, los kilómetros y toda la logística del día, terminé con apenas unos kilómetros hasta mi camping.

Naturaleza. Silencio. Schatzi. Y poco más.

Después de casi tres semanas en ruta, la verdad es que tampoco necesitaba mucho más. ❤️

🇪🇺 ➡️ E10 – Stage 13 | Brändö 🇦🇽 → Eckerö 🇦🇽

🇬🇧 Island hopping through Åland. 🇦🇽🌊

The day started with almost three hours on the ferry from Torsholma to Hummelvik, stopping at tiny islands along the way before getting back on Schatzi.

From there, Åland was a constant mix of bridges, sea views and short ups and downs, with the headwind making those 86 km feel a little longer than expected.

Services were becoming scarce too, so finding a place for a coffee and cinnamon roll —and later some proper warm food by the sea— felt like a small victory. ☕️

One more day surrounded by islands before reaching Eckerö… and suddenly, only one stage left.

🇪🇸 Saltando de isla en isla por Åland. 🇦🇽🌊

El día empezó con casi tres horas de ferry desde Torsholma hasta Hummelvik, haciendo pequeñas paradas entre islas antes de volver a subirme a Schatzi.

Desde ahí, Åland fue una mezcla constante de puentes, vistas al Báltico y pequeños sube y baja, con viento en contra haciendo que esos 86 km se sintieran un poquito más largos.

También empezaban a escasear los lugares donde parar, así que encontrar un café con cinnamon roll —y más tarde algo caliente para comer junto al mar— se sintió como una pequeña victoria. ☕️

Un día más rodeado de islas hasta llegar a Eckerö… y de repente, solo quedaba una etapa.

🇬🇧 Stage 13 – EuroVelo 10 | Brändö 🇦🇽 → Eckerö 🇦🇽

One of the strangest things about a long bikepacking trip is how quickly a completely different life becomes your normal life.

Wake up. Pack everything. Find food and coffee. Ride. Take a ferry. Ride again. Find somewhere to sleep. Wash the clothes. Charge everything. Repeat.

It’s not how I live 95% of my year, but after almost three weeks, this had become my routine. And I loved it.

Today, somewhere between ferries, islands, bridges and the headwind across Åland, I realised there was only one stage left.

I’m tired and part of me wants to arrive. But another part is sad that this little routine is about to end. Because even with tired legs, I feel like I could keep pedalling forever.

Maybe that’s what being in the right place at the right moment feels like.

Nothing mystical 😂. There’s wind, rain, hunger and bad days too.

But right now, this is exactly where I want to be.

Una de las cosas más raras de un viaje largo en bici es lo rápido que una vida completamente diferente se convierte en tu vida normal.

Levantarte. Guardar todo. Buscar comida y café. Pedalear. Agarrar un ferry. Volver a pedalear. Encontrar dónde dormir. Lavar la ropa. Cargar todo. Repetir.

No es la vida que llevo el 95% del año, pero después de casi tres semanas, esta se había convertido en mi rutina. Y me encantaba.

Hoy, entre ferries, islas, puentes y el viento en contra de Åland, me cayó la ficha: quedaba una sola etapa.

Estoy cansado y una parte de mí quiere llegar. Pero otra siente pena porque esto se termina. Porque incluso con las piernas cansadas, siento que podría seguir pedaleando eternamente.

Quizás estar en el lugar y momento correcto sea simplemente eso.

Nada demasiado místico 😂. También hay viento, lluvia, hambre y días malos.

Pero ahora mismo, estoy exactamente donde quiero estar.

🇬🇧 Stage 12 – EuroVelo 10 | Turku 🇫🇮 → Brändö 🇦🇽

I think I’ve officially become a ferry lover. ⛴️🚲❤️

This stage felt like island hopping by bike. Pedal to a ferry, cross the water, discover another island, ride a few more kilometers… and repeat.

Some ferries take just a few minutes, others almost an hour — and missing the wrong one can mean waiting for hours. But today? We caught them all. 😎

Arriving in Brändö, surrounded by tiny islands connected by bridges, ferries and almost empty roads, was exactly the kind of adventure I imagined when I started planning this trip.

I love islands. I love ferries.
Apparently, this is my kind of bikepacking. 🌊🚲

🇪🇸 Etapa 12 – EuroVelo 10 | Turku 🇫🇮 → Brändö 🇦🇽

Creo que oficialmente me convertí en fanático de los ferries. ⛴️🚲❤️

Esta etapa fue como hacer island hopping en bicicleta. Pedalear hasta un ferry, cruzar el mar, descubrir otra isla, hacer unos kilómetros más… y repetir.

Algunos ferries duran apenas unos minutos, otros casi una hora, y perder el equivocado puede significar esperar durante horas. Pero hoy… los conseguimos todos. 😎

Llegar a Brändö, rodeado de pequeñas islas conectadas por puentes, ferries y carreteras prácticamente vacías, fue exactamente ese tipo de aventura que imaginaba cuando empecé a planear este viaje.

Me encantan las islas. Me encantan los ferries.
Definitivamente, este es mi tipo de bikepacking. 🌊🚲

🇪🇺 E10 – Stage 12 | Finnish Archipelago 🇫🇮

🇬🇧 107 km deeper into the Finnish archipelago. 🇫🇮

A completely different landscape where the journey became a succession of islands, water, forests and quiet roads, with those beautiful red wooden houses appearing everywhere along the way. 🌲🏡🚲

Fast kilometers, very little traffic and that peaceful feeling that was becoming one of my favourite things about riding through Finland.

🇪🇸 107 km adentrándome un poco más en el archipiélago finlandés. 🇫🇮

Un paisaje completamente diferente donde el viaje se convirtió en una sucesión de islas, agua, bosques y carreteras tranquilas, con esas preciosas casas rojas de madera apareciendo constantemente por el camino. 🌲🏡🚲

Kilómetros rápidos, muy poco tráfico y esa sensación de tranquilidad que se estaba convirtiendo en una de mis cosas favoritas de pedalear por Finlandia.

🇬🇧 Stage 12 – EuroVelo 10 | Turku 🇫🇮 → Finnish Archipelago 🇫🇮

At some point during a long bikepacking trip, something changes.

You stop thinking so much about kilometers, stages or how many days are still ahead. You wake up, pack the bike and simply keep moving forward. 🚲

Leaving Turku, the landscape changed again as I headed deeper into the Finnish archipelago. More water, islands, quiet roads and that feeling of travelling somewhere increasingly remote. 🇫🇮🌊

After so many days with Schatzi, this strange routine had started to feel completely normal.

Pedal. Explore. Eat. Find somewhere to sleep. Repeat.

And somewhere along the way, you realize that this simplicity might be exactly what you came looking for. ❤️

🇪🇸 Etapa 12 – EuroVelo 10 | Turku 🇫🇮 → Archipiélago finlandés 🇫🇮

En algún momento de un viaje largo en bicicleta, algo cambia.

Dejás de pensar tanto en los kilómetros, las etapas o cuántos días quedan. Te levantás, cargás la bici y simplemente seguís avanzando. 🚲

Al dejar Turku, el paisaje volvió a transformarse mientras me adentraba en el archipiélago finlandés. Más agua, islas, carreteras tranquilas y esa sensación de estar viajando por lugares cada vez más remotos. 🇫🇮🌊

Después de tantos días con Schatzi, esta extraña rutina empezaba a sentirse completamente normal.

Pedalear. Descubrir. Comer. Encontrar dónde dormir. Repetir.

Y en algún momento del camino te das cuenta de que quizás era justamente esta simplicidad lo que habías venido a buscar. ❤️

🇬🇧 Stage 11 – EuroVelo 10 | Mathildedal 🇫🇮 → Turku 🇫🇮

Sometimes the best stops are the ones you never planned. ☕️🚲

After leaving an almost empty Mathildedal, I found a small local business along the way and stopped for a coffee in the sun. Nothing famous, nothing on the bucket list… just one of those simple moments that makes travelling slowly so enjoyable.

From there, the peaceful Finnish countryside gradually started changing as I got closer to Turku.

Another reminder that bikepacking isn’t only about where you start and finish. A lot of the good stuff happens somewhere in between. ❤️

🇪🇸 Etapa 11 – EuroVelo 10 | Mathildedal 🇫🇮 → Turku 🇫🇮

A veces las mejores paradas son justamente las que nunca planeaste. ☕️🚲

Después de salir de un Mathildedal prácticamente vacío, encontré un pequeño negocio local por el camino y paré a tomar un café al sol. Nada famoso, nada que aparezca en una lista de imprescindibles… simplemente uno de esos pequeños momentos que hacen tan lindo viajar despacio.

Desde ahí, la tranquila Finlandia rural fue cambiando poco a poco a medida que me acercaba a Turku.

Otro recordatorio de que el bikepacking no es solamente el lugar desde donde salís y al que llegás. Muchas de las mejores cosas pasan en algún punto intermedio. ❤️

🇬🇧 Short distance, but plenty happening along the way.

Leaving Mathildedal, the route continued through forests, quiet roads and the Finnish countryside, with ferries once again connecting the pieces of the journey. ⛴️🚲

The final approach to Turku brought another change: more traffic, constant little ups and downs, and finally, around 20 km before the city, excellent separated cycle paths making the arrival incredibly easy.

Another 78.8 km across Finland and another completely different side of the E10. 🇫🇮

🇪🇸 Pocos kilómetros, pero muchas cosas pasando por el camino.

Saliendo de Mathildedal, la ruta continuó entre bosques, carreteras tranquilas y la Finlandia rural, con los ferries conectando una vez más las distintas partes del viaje. ⛴️🚲

La aproximación final a Turku volvió a cambiar el escenario: más tráfico, constantes sube y baja y, finalmente, unos 20 km antes de la ciudad, excelentes carriles bici separados que hicieron la llegada increíblemente fácil.

Otros 78,8 km por Finlandia y otra cara completamente diferente de la E10. 🇫🇮

🇬🇧 Stage 11 – EuroVelo 10 | Mathildedal 🇫🇮 → Turku 🇫🇮

By this point of the trip, ferries had become part of the adventure. ⛴️🚲❤️

Leaving an almost empty Mathildedal, I was soon back on beautiful gravel roads through the Finnish forests… and once again, the route depended on ferries.

Finland has its own little ferry world: some crossings are free and run every 20 minutes, while others might only leave once or twice a day. Luckily, a local cyclist helped me understand how everything worked.

Bikepacking keeps teaching me that sometimes the route isn’t just about following a line on a map. You have to understand how people move through the places you’re visiting.

And Schatzi was becoming quite an experienced ferry traveller too. 😎⛴️

🇪🇸 Etapa 11 – EuroVelo 10 | Mathildedal 🇫🇮 → Turku 🇫🇮

A esta altura del viaje, los ferries ya se habían convertido en parte de la aventura. ⛴️🚲❤️

Saliendo de un Mathildedal prácticamente vacío, volví rápidamente a esos preciosos caminos de gravel entre los bosques finlandeses… y, una vez más, la ruta dependía de los ferries.

Finlandia tiene su pequeño mundo de ferries: algunos cruces son gratuitos y pasan cada 20 minutos, mientras que otros tienen apenas una o dos salidas al día. Por suerte, un ciclista local me ayudó a entender cómo funcionaba todo.

El bikepacking me sigue enseñando que la ruta no siempre consiste en seguir una línea en el mapa. También hay que aprender cómo se mueve la gente por los lugares que estás visitando.

Y Schatzi ya se estaba convirtiendo en toda una experta viajera en ferry. 😎⛴️
