Closing our doors is not by choice and is a heartbreaking decision, but we cannot actively sustain. We don’t have committed fosters for big dogs. Donations as of late are barely covering costs. We have really struggled over the last year to stay above water. But the truth is we are drowning and it’s been hard to pretend everything’s ok on social media, which is why you haven’t seen much of us here. But we need you to know. And while we are gutted by this decision, we can’t just crawl under a rock. We won’t. And we still need you. We have been responsible to not bring more dogs under our care while we are struggling to pay the bills, but we do still have two dogs in our care, getting the best, & we do still have essential costs to bear for them, including unpaid bills for the first time ever. Lucky showed more signs of illness in November. We ran tests since at first had us worried about prostate cancer, but thankfully those all came back negative, & turned out to be a nasty UTI. 🚨We NEED a FOSTER HOME FOR LUCKY. We are so grateful that he is safe, cared for, and getting great attention in boarding with the best trainer, but we don’t take in the kind of money it takes to sustain that. We are overwhelmed with paying Lucky’s in home boarding fees for most of this year. And we are behind on payments. 🚨We need help. We need to raise $657 for Lucky just to catch up on boarding fees! We need help to pay this bill, but what we really need is a foster or adoptive home. Lucky deserves that family kind of life. We have begged & tried everything, even offering a paid foster, but no door has opened for him. Lastly, we are incredibly grateful to every one of you who have supported our dogs on this journey for the last ten years. Every foster pawrent, every transporter, every donor, every trainer, every veterinarian and vet tech, every dog walker, every photographer, every shelter volunteer, & every “follower” on social media… we truly could not have done any of this without your support. 🙏🏽Please consider helping us out of this financial ditch with a tax-deductible donation. Every dollar adds up. No donation is too small. Donation links in bio. ♥️♥️♥️ by @wattsproject

☔️Isn’t ADOPTABLE BONNIE so cute in her raincoat? RAIN or SHINE, she could be YOURS! She’s come a long way from that hoarding property in the Nevada desert (see story highlights), so much change, and she is so resilient! After raising her seven puppies (3 still looking for homes), she got spayed, spent a few weeks with our friends @humblek9 training, and is now back with her foster home, experiencing all the things to get ready for her forever home. She goes to @larpbo classes, has play dates with frenz, sleeps in a crate, potties outside, and hangs with the home pack 🐶XL to 🐶XS. She’s young and energetic, playful, loves affection, while also can be timid with strangers. She’s available for adoption through the SUPER SUPPORTIVE rescue group @kennelevictionorg Would you like to meet her? Spend time getting to know her? Please send a DM or email kennelevictionpuprescue@gmail.com And stay safe out there in the SoCal rain today! #toystory Bonnie #adoptdontshop #rainy #puppylife #dogsofinstagram by @wattsproject
COURTESY POST: VICTORY AT THE SOUTH LA SHELTER HAS RESCUE INTEREST, AND NEEDS A FOSTER! Contact @pawpals_southlashelter If you can foster. HE WAS GIVEN A ONE DAY EXTENSION TO MONDAY TO GET THAT CHANCE. This handsome Shepherd mix came to the shelter in June because his owner was moving out of the country. According to the owner, VICTORY is 10 years old and had been with the owner all his life. While at the shelter, VICTORY caught an upper respiratory infection and spent last month in URI confinement. Understandably, shelter life has been scary and confusing for VICTORY. In playgroup, he often kept to himself and had been wary of handling. But this good boy is really trying and making notable progress - nowadays accepting pets and staying close to his handlers. He will even give a happy tail wag. He’s an easy, gentle walker on leash. He is also house broken and will not soil his kennel even if it means suffering while he holds his bladder. We are heartbroken that this precious soul will lose his life. He is alerted for in-kennel FAS (reportedly hid in his cubby, barking, growling, and refusing to come to the front of his kennel for staff). What VICTORY needs is a supportive home environment with someone who will take things slowly and give VICTORY the time and understanding to decompress and begin to normalize. We hope someone will give this sweet senior the second chance life he deserves. VICTORY will be euthanized on SUNDAY 8/30 anytime after 8am. He is available for foster, adoption, or rescue at the South Los Angeles Shelter. *The shelter is not open on Monday so adoptions must be done by 5pm Sunday, or find a rescue to pull for you. Rescues please email contacts below. VICTORY #A2278165 8-10 yrs old (owner said he’s 10 yrs old, shelter aged him at 8 yrs old), 68 Ibs Shelter hours: Tues-Fri 8am-5pm | Sat & Sun 11am-5pm 📍South LA Animal Shelter 1850 W. 60th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90047 323-565-2161 or 888-452-7381 Email: catherine.lee@lacity.org jasmine.poblano@lacity.org matthew.spease@lacity.org nathaniel.a.newman@lacityorg roman.rincon@lacity.org #adoptdontshop #fosterme by @wattsproject
Bonnie urgently needs a foster ‼️ Our Desert hoarding survivor Bonnie desperately needs a long term foster. She has already come so far and needs a home to help her on her journey ✨️ Bonnie is shy to new people and things but truly has proven to be nothing but a sweet and affectionate dog. The priority was getting Bonnie prepared for a home and now that she has been 1. Treated for giardia. 2. Finished raising her babies. 3. Done 4 weeks of train and board, she needs the HOMEstretch! Training wasn't because Bonnie is a reactive dog. She was fearful. She spent her first year in the life fending for resources in the desert. Can you imagine surviving in those circumstances? Well she did and she has stayed the most gentle soul through it all. Now we need a foster or preferably adopter that we can support long term as Bonnie learns more and more about our world after surviving hoarding. Please consider sharing Bonnie so that she can find her home 🩵 We did not raise the full amount of Bonnies training. Her 4 weeks cost $3,000 and her 1 week of boarding is $350. Please make a tax deductible donation towadds her care 🙏 Venmo @kennelevictionrescue Paypal @kennelevictionrescue Zelle samantharedline@kennelevictionrescue.org Ein 99-2883333 Email kennelevictionpuprescue@gmail.com if interested in fostering or adopting! #Kennelevictionrescue by @wattsproject
🐶”The @kennelevictionrescue Toy Story Pups are why I’ve been at training so long! ADOPT THEM NOW, because I’m going home!” They are 10 weeks old and READY for their FOREVER HOMES! We have raised these pups since they were about 4 weeks old after rescuing them in dire conditions at the hoarding property in Nevada. They would not have survived, but with us they have thrived! They are sweet, healthy, and such great pups in the home. ✔️Sleep through the night ✔️They know where to potty (no lie) ✔️They do not constantly cry or whine ✔️Social with other dogs ✔️One we know is cool with cats ✔️Individual personalities ✔️Playful and love toys ✔️Cuddlebugs The hardest part about fostering 7 growing puppies and their momma has been having a phone full of videos and no time to post! 😅😭 It’s been a whirlwind nurturing them all, while working full time and having my own dogs, but it’s still been the most rewarding exhausting experience! 😅 But, THAT’S WHY WE 🚨URGENTLY🚨 NEED 2 WEEK FOSTERS! As our pups are growing, we are looking for them to receive individual attention and socialization leading up to our adoption events and while we vet adoption applicants. That’s where YOU can help: PUPPY LOVE for free on a short term basis. That’s it. ALL SUPPLIES, FOOD, and medical needs are covered. You supply the attention a growing puppy needs in a safe and caring home! Soooo… Come meet them tomorrow, Saturday, at the Pet Adoption Fair at Schabarum Park in Hacienda Heights, 10am to 3pm, and see which one steals your heart! If you want to adopt or foster (short or long term) DM @sam.plus.paws (Kennel Eviction Rescue instagram has locked her out) or @paw.squad_dani 🙏🏽 A few weeks ago they got visits from Shelter Aunties @southlaanimalsheltervolunteer and @pawpals_southlashelter and soaked up so much love! Momma BONNIE is just a puppy herself 💔 Can you imagine how resilient a dog has to be to, at just over a year old, birth and raise 7 puppies for 5 weeks in the desert? Bonnie has done just that. She supported 7 growing bodies through the 100° + Nevada heat. Raised them literally in the dirt with nothing but a crate as shelter. In the elements with very little resources. 😔 Bonnie is truly a special dog who has already overcome deplorable circumstances. She was born and raised in the desert. Its all she knows. Now shes in the big city of LA and is having to process SOOOO much. She needs support. Support she’s never had before. Bonnie needs a foster who’s comfortable with shy dogs BUT needs to go to train and board first to give her time to adjust to our world. @kennelevictionrescue (currently locked out of our page) didn’t expect this intake, but it’s one we can’t walk away from. We can not send Bonnie to training unless $1000 is fundraised first with an expected cost of 3k for 1 month of train & Board. Bonnie needs this and we need your help to provide this. 🙏 Venmo/PayPal @kennelevictionrescue Zelle samantharedline@kennelevictionrescue.org Ein 99-2883333 #toystory #shepherdmix #dogtraining #fosterme by @wattsproject
A crucial part of our training program is the proofing, where we meet with the foster and practice what the dog has learned to see if the dog is ready. @paw.squad_dani , who has fostered @southla_shang.chi for a long time, came to visit and refresh some of his training. Clearly, there is a bond between them; it’s beautiful to watch.❤️🐶 Changchi is available for adoption if you are interested.🏡🐾 #dogtraining #rescuedog #adoptdontshop #rescuedog by @wattsproject
🙏🏽Please DONATE for the training #SouthLASurvivor ENDO needs so that he and his dad, a US NAVY VETERAN who is unhoused, can stay TOGETHER💛 We need to raise $1500 for two more weeks! When 2 year old Endo was going to be euthanized at the South LA shelter last month, soooooo many rallied to REUNITE them, and on his own, Endo’s dad said, “Not my son!” But he didn’t know that an entire community is in his corner! However, Endo’s initial temperament toward strangers is a challenge that needs to be managed in order to be housed together. So for board and train, we reached out to our friends @humbleK9 to be a part of Endo’s village! And our friends @k9kismet are helping to make this possible by accepting donations to fund Endo’s training through their Amigos Program. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PROVIDE AT LEAST 4 WEEKS OF TRAINING. The K9 Kismet Amigos Program helps keep families together by providing support with medical care and training for pets whose owners are going through a hard chapter… because we believe no one should ever have to give up their best friend. Fully funded by private donors and sponsors, the Amigos Program is powered by a community that understands something simple and deeply human… sometimes we all just need a friend in our corner. Endo and his dad are committed. They’re showing up for each other, and they’re ready to do the work with @mr.johnflores … and we’re ready to stand with them and help make it happen. Will you stand with us?
