Hello! Somewhere along the road this account morphed into a camera page so I thought it might be time to ✨reintroduce myself✨

Hi! My name is Mallory 👋 and I’m a freelance AC/photographer/animator based out of Los Angeles, CA. I created “Wavy Madonna” back in 2018 as a way to showcase my photography, animations (yes, I LOVE stop motion animation - hit me up!) and other work after moving to LA.

By 2021, I found myself working in the service department at Band Pro Film and Digital, a company dedicated to selling high-end, cinema equipment. Working as an AC, I understand firsthand how important it is to keep production up and running. So, with my service experience, I have a deep understanding of the gear to troubleshoot, problem-solve and effectively be a better camera assistant.

Weirdly enough, I find that troubleshooting to be part of the fun - discovering how to fix an issue that perhaps hasn’t been seen before can be so satisfying.

Today, I’m a freelance AC living in Los Angeles while also working at Band Pro. I have experience pulling focus for music videos, narrative projects and commercials. Additionally I have experience with Sony Cinema cameras, Arri Mini/Mini LF, Amira, RED and Blackmagic cameras. I own a Tilta Nucleus Follow Focus and 703U SmallHD monitor.

Please reach out! I’m always open to new opportunities and collaborations! xx

These are my ✨tools✨

When you find good tools you hang onto them!🫡 I work with an engineer who still uses the same screwdrivers he received as a gift from one of his employers 20 years ago 🥹

A lot of these have overlap in their uses and this is by no means a comprehensive list of all the tools used in a camera’s service dept BUT here are my favs:

🪛Large/Medium Phillips Head Screwdriver
🪛3/16” High Torque Screwdriver
🪛Bondhus 3/32 T wrench
🪛Beau Tech SH-20H Soldering Aid Hook and
Fork Tip
🪛Wiha Ballhead Hex Drover 3/32 x 100
🪛Powerbuilt 3mm T handle Hex Key Wrench
🪛Large Flathead Screwdriver
🪛Small Phillips Head Screwdriver with special tip

One of my FAVORITE parts of being an AC is setting up my focus station 🫶 I love customizing my work station to fit the project's needs alongside my own 🤓

Some of my focus station essentials include:

- 16x9 cine lock (IFYKYK) s/o @16x9inc
- Tush Cush from @joestushcush
- Noga arms (need I say more?)
- Sun shade for my monitor ☀️
- Robo cups (specifically the bigger size to fit my Hydroflask) @therobocup

✨I’ve had this image in my head for almost a year✨

Back in 2023 MSCHF released the “BIG RED BOOT” (an homage to the Astro Boy character) and the internet went WILD. I was obsessed with their oversized look and knew I had to get my hands on a pair. By some miraculous stroke of fate, I won a draw for the boots. It was meant to be. Fast forward and I’m finally able to share some of the finished product!
