Waxy in EXIL (Ticket link bio)

Augenwasser Band (Record Release Show)
Room Service (Support)

09.09.2026, 7 p.m.
EXIL, Hardstrasse 245, 8005 Zürich

After almost a year and a half beneath the surface, Waxy Bar reappears for one night only – finding temporary shelter at EXIL. Waxy may still be without a permanent home, but it is far from gone. Small concerts need space, especially in Zurich, where those spaces are becoming increasingly scarce. For this special return, two familiar guests take the stage: Augenwasser Band and Room Service.

Unmoved by the noise and urgency of the outside world, Augenwasser Band took their time creating Songs from the Aquarium. The aquarium becomes a metaphor for so-called third places: bars, cafés and concert venues where people meet in real life, yet somehow remain suspended outside everyday life. The album begins with a weightless instrumental before the full band slowly pulls the listener into a strange current of faux-sophisti-pop, indie psychedelia and drone-soaked ballads. Recorded over just two days in 2025, shortly after the first performances of the new material, the songs retain the spectral freshness of music still in the process of taking shape. Augenwasser Band bring their release tour to Exil for a rare live appearance – with no further concerts currently planned.

From the aquarium, we drift out to sea and onwards into the desert. Room Service open the evening with a raw yet melodic collision of lo-fi, surf and garage rock. Reverb-drenched guitars, playful basslines and driving drums move between hazy psychedelic passages and sudden bursts of energy – rough around the edges, free-flowing and carrying a distinct sense of distant places.
