To the men who showed us what strength, love, and leadership look like, this walk was for you 👑

Today, the HERaccess LA community came together on the Strand to celebrate Father’s Day week and honor the fathers, father figures, husbands, brothers, sons, mentors, and the men who have made a lasting impact in our lives.

As we walked, we reflected on the men who have encouraged us, sacrificed for us, stood beside us, and helped shape the women we are becoming. Their influence reaches far beyond what is seen, and today we took a moment to recognize and appreciate that impact.

Thank you to every woman who showed up and carried that spirit with her this morning. Each of us need all of us & you all were a reminder today of what that’s suppose to look like 🤍

Here’s to wellness, community, and celebrating the people who matter most.

A lot of ups and downs this year. Mostly up! Through it all I can see how much I’ve grown. Taking what would previously be a “hardship” in stride. Learning. Growing. And continuing to manifest!

You don’t need another pep talk.
You need a mirror… and a move.

Be real for a second

Where are you out of sync with your own life?
What keeps getting pushed to “tomorrow”?
What are you thinking about way more than you’re actually doing?

At some point, it stops being confusion…
and starts being avoidance.

This isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about being honest enough to shift.

Pick one thing.
Clean it up.
Follow through.

Mirror Talks..

You ever felt stuck, or like life was just a loop of the same experiences? Over and over again?

It’s happens to all of us. The questions we ask, and the actions we take following will continue to lead us through that loop. Until we decide to climb out.

Every man experiences Transition. Relationships end, we move to a new city, death of someone close to us, feeling unfulfilled at work. All are transitions that we must make time to reflect on. But that reflection isn’t always pretty!

So we turn to vices. We escape. We downplay. It’s easier… Until it’s not! There’s only so long you can search for something externally that you can only give to yourself.

That climb up built my character. That climb made me a better Father. A better Partner. A better Friend. And most importantly and better Steward of Myself!

You have all the answers… But are you asking yourself the right questions?

If not, I got you.

Hit me when you’re ready. Shit, hit me if you ain’t.

Growth happens in silence and isolation.

This last season of my life has been just that. Growing Up. Defining what masculinity, brotherhood, and self honor means to me and not what’s been deemed “correct” by the masses. You can say I’ve been in transition.

From a Boy to a Man. From feeling Lost, to Choosing Myself. From living in Fear of the Unknown, to grabbing my n**s and taking what I believe is mine! BELIEVE

I’m having fun again! Building, Dancing, Hooping, and Relaxing. All while supporting other men in the way I once’s looked to be supported. God created in me, what I was looking for outside of myself.

But to get here, I had to heal. I had to face some things within me that I was running from. Shit’s been hard AF, but all worth it. And I met some Brothers along the way. Some Brothers I could build with @mentalhealthisrealwealth and beyond.

If you’re on this Journey now Brother, don’t be alarmed. Breathe, Slow Down, and Decide!

2021..

Memory lane has been a place of residence for me this week. As I venture into 42 with more intentionality, I find myself reflecting on my past and how much I feel I’ve grown.

2021 was a crazy year for me to say the least. 2 years in as a new Dad, career changes, relationships faltering, and questions of “who am I… really”? I needed an outlet, a place to express that wasn’t filtered, and where no outside voices could influence my own. I turned back to my first love (after my momma and basketball of course). The ARTS!

Using music as a vehicle, I began to hear where I was in my life. The hurt, the excitement, the confusion, the forgiveness… all of it was right there. I started to work with @legendariminds, creating with @anthonygray__sanguine, @mikolxmuse, @elonceuv, and @zxmbiac. It’s was fun as shit!!!

We performed together, created an album, and started hosting parties. I was building brotherhood organically, while healing parts of myself in the process. I didn’t do it on purpose, but as I reflect, it added to the man that I am today in so many ways.

Now, as #Brotherhood has become my life’s passion/ mission, I can look back at these men with gratitude and appreciation. Thank you for being a launching pad to the man I’ve become. To the man I’ve CHOSEN to be!

Brothers, connect with your boys, check on them, tap in. You don’t know what they may be going through. Continue to find your outlet, as music was mine.

Parenting at 42.. Let them teach, I’ll explain.

My daughter is passionate about Art, creating character drawings of her family as you can see her, and who she calls her “Uncle/Cousin” @theblvckjagger. She creates everyday!

Taking the opportunity to teach her more about our history, Art appears to be the best way to ensure her attention. In this way she’s allowed to feel connected to her past as she creates her own.

At times I’m stunned by just how much she already knows, and how much I myself need to go back and research in order to teach her correctly.

My great friend/Brother @gramsngoldchains invited us to view @enstrumental art collection. You’ll see some of my favorite pieces here, from Zae and I’s Daddy/Daughter Date.

Zelah is also reigniting my own creativity as she’s been curious about my art (music), and has been asking me to play some songs for her. Not only does she listen, she gives feedback too!! She’s her Daddy’s Daughter, lol. (more on that later).

Get to the Parenting at 42… Okay, I hear you! Sheesh!!! 🙄 lol.

At this big age I’m still learning so much as a Man and Father. Allow your children to encourage you to dream again. Zelah reminds me of the innocence I once created from, and the love/Joy (there goes that word again), that was attained by doing so. My Inner Child feels so alive and present today.

I’ll be 42 this week, so I’m taking some time to reflect on my past, while I continue building my future with intentionality and purpose.

Fellas, make sure you’re setting some time aside to look at where you come from, so you can decide where you’re going. If you need help, spend sometime with your little ones, apparently they have all the answers! Lol. If you still need help, hit me, I got you!
