I attended a talk on Microsoft’s perspective on Digital Trust & Global Regulation, and one key takeaway really stood out to me

Digital trust is no longer just an IT issue. It’s a leadership responsibility

As regulations evolve globally, security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI must be designed in from day one, not added as an afterthought

Microsoft shared how organisations today must constantly balance:

1. Innovation vs regulation

2. Speed vs accountability

3. AI advancement vs ethics

The takeaway

Trust is becoming a competitive advantage

Those who can clearly demonstrate how they protect data and govern technology responsibly will win faster with customers, partners, and regulators

Sometimes, failure doesn’t mean the end. It simply means the business model, timing, or partnership needs to change

I’ve walked through that myself

With 99 DIGITAL, I experienced setbacks, a business that didn’t work out as expected, and 3 different partnerships that ultimately failed ❌

But I never saw those experiences as reasons to give up

Each failure taught me something about business, partnerships, people, and most importantly, myself. Sometimes you don’t need to abandon the destination, you simply need to restructure, change direction, and find a model that works

Then I met my current business partner

For the first time in a long while, I felt a sense of relief knowing that I had someone beside me someone who could share the responsibilities, challenges, pressure, and journey of building something together

This time I’m approaching entrepreneurship differently

I’ve learned from my past mistakes. I’ve become more resilient, more careful, and more aware of what it takes to build a sustainable business and partnership

Failure didn’t teach me to give up. It taught me how to rebuild stronger

Here’s to building something meaningful together and hopefully, “A business partnership that will last long and continue to grow stronger.” 🤝 by @wayne.yong
